Relocated from Castle Douglas to Leith (lucky for us), The Plumed Horse is the brainchild of superstar Chef/Proprietor Tony Borthwick who earned the restaurant a Michelin Star in 2001. Although the move to Leith has meant giving up the star it can’t possibly be too long before the Plumed Horse is decorated again. Stylishly simple, the restaurant is all white walls, white linen and light and airy space, the ideal backdrop to an evening of gastronomic delights. The imaginative menu has lost nothing in its relocation, still boasting impressively modern cuisine with a good classical twist and presentation which almost stops you digging in with that fork. The Plumed Horse’s star has certainly not fallen

You Must visit this restaurant, it is better than the two Michellen starred restaurant nearby! Top class!

This was our first visit to the Plumed Horse but we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was fresh and tasty and the staff and service very good. Also at £85 for 2 including a nice bottle of wine was reasonable value. The only negative was the set menu had a fairly limited choice so worth checking first.

Our anniversary dinner was our first visit to The Plumed Horse and we just loved it. The staff were very welcoming, attentive and relaxed without being overly formal. The ambience was quiet and elegant without trying too hard, the food was consistently beautifully presented, real pleasure on a plate. We appreciated the range of half bottles of wine to cater... We had an enjoyable meal in this restaurant. It was our wedding anniversary and the ambience was superb. The service was really impeccable. I personally, did not love the food, but my husband did really enjoy his food. Perhaps the tasting menu was not for right for me - it's all about personal preference. Nothing set me alight and I... We visited this restaurant for the first time today and we really enjoyed our 5 course tasting menu with prosecco. Lots of lovely flavours and beautifully served. We thought the whole experience was fab and would love to visit again.

My husband & I dined in this restaurant on Saturday 21st March after looking at the excellent reviews it had received. We had booked for 9pm but arrived a little before and were shown direct to our table. We ordered the tasting menu with accompanying wines. We were immediately served with a glass of champagne which was very welcome. Then... More

Bought a Amazon voucher for the taster menu. And had a fantastic meal, yet again. Can't wait for our next visit.
