Went here for boyfriends birthday , before going to castle for a gig. Thought it would be a good place to go as we've been before and it is close to castle. Well the food was ok but not what it used to be , plenty to choose from but all the chicken such as satays, lemon chicken and even... read more

I fancied Chinese food one day I found myself in Edinburgh. I thought that this restaurant was worth a visit. There was not a nice atmosphere inside. The food was all squashed into a very small area and it was not of great quality. I did not even enjoy the rice. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Not very elegant but I had a three course meal for less than £13, food quality a lot higher than I'd expected, I'll be back!

We chance upon this restaurant while we were walking along waverly bridge. We stop for their buffet lunch. There are quite a lot of choices but mostly are chicken. Should include shrimp, cuttlefish or duck. As for desert should have a tong sui. But the good thing is that the food were kept warm. The fried rice and fried noodle... More

This used to be a good cheap & cheerful option that we visited from time to time. The last time we went the food was poor quality, there were virtually no veggie options (they used to prepare a veggie dish specially if there wasn't much but not now). Maybe better for meat eaters but those I was with were not... More

It's a buffet so we should have known better than to expect much but are low expectations were lowered anyway. Very poor. The food was pretty average and the choice was limited. Place had the look and feel of somewhere that loads of people have been through all day without much attention to the clean up.

Had a lovely day in Edinburgh had a very poor late lunch, in fact the worst Chinese buffet I have ever been to. Chicken soup no bits of chicken. No crusty bread, soup was nice and hot the rest of food was luke warm. Staff very poorly turned out shirts and trousers not ironed. Nobody even asked if everything was... More

We went in the evening. Food was plentiful with a good selection to choose from. Starters, main course and pudding were included which were good value.

Not what you would expect next to the historic buildings of Waverley Station, Princes Street and the Royal Mile. Decor was dismal and the food and service was similar. I suppose it was good value but lacked any flavour. Not many Chinese there - usually a good indicator!

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighborhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
