My wife treated me to a trip to Edinburgh for my 30th - and the highlight was, without question, our lunch at The Kitchin. Walking in dripping wet from the hammering rain, we were greeted at the door by none other than Tom Kitchin. That was a memorable start to an extremely memorable afternoon. From the drinks and the decor... More

nicest food either of us have ever eaten ever. My son was given a personally written birthday card from TK which I thought was a nice touch. Really good value every dish was absolutely perfect and our bill including wine came to £100.

A special treat while we were in Edinburgh for the Fringe - excellent food with very good service. I was particularly interested about the information, given to each of us on a small map of Scotland, on the source of the key ingredients. Staff were also very knowledgeable and informative about all aspects of our meal. From my seat I... More

An evening meal here to end a great stay Edinburgh. To say I was like a rabbit caught in headlights when Tom Kitchen greeted us at reception dressed in his chefs whites is possibly the understatement of the year! We both had the taster menu with an added grouse dish with mine being gluten free and from start to finish... More

My wife and I travelled to Edinburgh to celebrate our wedding anniversary and booked into the Kitchin for our meal ..... FANTASTIC ! It is hard to think of another meal we have enjoyed so much. We had the spoots to start with and they alone were worth the 800 mile round trip. What a lovely unhurried meal we had,... More

We came here to celebrate our 11 year anniversary. When we arrived we were taken straight to our table. We got a couple of appitizers whilst were still looking at the menu. When ordering the menu the staff were very informative about when it was caught and where it came from. We also got a mini loaf of bread. We... More

We've been here twice now and having been lucky enough to have eaten in quite a few Michelin star restaurants I can hand on heart say that this is my favourite. The food is AMAZING. You can tell that it is all so fresh & I love Tom's 'From Nature to Plate' manta. Everything from the pre-dinner champagne cocktail to... More

We had been to The Kitchin years and years ago when Mr Tom Kitchin was not quite as well known as he is these days and were well impressed at the time. He came accross as a tremendously down to earth man that really loves his job and Mrs Kitchin was also lovely, the food was tasty and well prepared.... More

Lunch at Kitchin was perfect from beginning to end. Great, unpretentious service, a nice setting, really well-priced menu (especially considering this is a Michelin-starred restaurant). All the choices sounded delicious, so the four of us tried a bit of everything. No sense in mentioning what we ate since the menu changes so frequently to take advantage of what is locally... More

Every year for the past 6/7 years, during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, we've gone to Leith for a meal and have enjoyed good food in many of the restaurants there. We've previously looked at The Kitchin but never actually tried to get in, but this year we thought we'd ask, even though getting a table without a reservation seemed unlikely.... More
