I honestly cannot believe the reviews on here for the The Kitichin. I can only think that because of the hype surrounding this restaurant people feel obliged to go on and on about it. We live in Edinburgh, eat out a lot and enjoy fine dining, our experience as follows…. We booked the Kitchin for a Saturday night, 5 months... More

High end dining with high end service in a beautifully redone warehouse convenient to the bus (just note that the bus drops you off behind the restaurant - you need to walk around the building to the front). Good for a special occasion. My wife and I both thought that the flavors were creative but subtle, perhaps too subtle. Surprisingly,... More

Booked a 3 course set menu, amazing food, served quickly and staff are all of good standard, food was creative, fresh and excellent . Set menu is good value for this quality . Drinks are far too pricey , double the price of nice bar just a few doors along Will certainly return to try taster menu

My husband initially booked this as a surprise for our tenth wedding anniversary in July but we then discovered our second child is due in July. The restaurant were very helpful in rearranging the booking and fitted us in for the date we wanted. The meal experience was everything we thought it would be and more. We had the seasonal... More

My partner and I came to The Kitchin for his birthday after booking on a whim a few months previously and then planning an Edinburgh weekend around the meal. We figured that although it was expensive, you don't do these things all the time and that if you are going to dine at a restaurant like this then you may... More

Lunch was absolutely delicious and I had trouble choosing each course as all sounded good. My husband had cod's cheeks starter followed by hake main course and said the fish was perfectly cooked, moist and full of flavor. My starter was cannelloni of monk fish and livers with a beautifully flavored sauce. Followed this with faggot of pork topped with... More

The wines selected perfectly complimented our food and the wine waiter was charming and very knowledgeable about each wine. All the staff were attentive but discreet which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable . impressed with... More

We expected the meal to be good, being a Michelin star restaurant etc, but we were blown away by just how good it was! We had the taster menu with matching wines. I`d highly recommend that you go for the matched wines, takes the experience to a whole other level. The starter menu gives such a great range of tastes... More

We flew to Scotland to visit this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. It's not just a meal it's a whole experience, we were given a map of Scotland which highlighted where all the ingredients we were eating had been sourced - great idea. I cannot think of anything but good to say about the whole thing. We went for the... More

My wife and I were treated to a tasting menu as a wedding present and made the trip down from Aberdeen especially to visit The Kitchin. We had to book a table around three months in advance, and after eating there it's no surprise it took so long to get a table. This was the most amazing dining experience of... More
