Nice place to go for lunch

Went with a friend just before Christmas. Although busy, they soon sorted out a table for us. When our starter of herb bread arrived it was cold but was changed immediately. Pasta mains were good though we both thought the pasta choices could be enhanced. Splashed out on liqueurs with coffee... read more

A regular spot for a works night out. Food and service is good and they cater well for larger parties. Keep an eye on the Internet as they do various money-off food offers regularly.

Had a meal here to use some tesco vouchers, lovely food and quick courteous service, even when I received wrong dessert the manager sorted it quickly. Although as evening wore on they got very busy so we got less and less attention. Still a lovely experience.

I took my family and grand children here (3 adults and 3 young children) and was disappointed in the quality of food, diabolical slow service and value for money whilst there. Will not be going back!

My girlfriend and I visited early on a Saturday night using a voucher that offered three courses for £15. Things started well - our garlic bread starter was massive and when we asked for some dipping sauce the waitress brought us some decent tomato dip. Our mains were also good - a very spicy chilli and pepperoni pizza and a... More

Visited here on a recent trip. The restaurant has a lovely view over the canal and is very welcoming. The staff were very friendly and attentive without being in your face. We shared a bread basket - which is lovely. We then both had a pasta dish. The food was fresh and very tasty. Prices were reasonable.

For an Italian chain, it was a pleasant surprise to see some of the different dishes on the menu. Four of us had a very good meal pre-Cinema. Definitely worth a try

The food was excellent, the service was great, and we had a 25% discount because we were staying at the nearby Valentines Guest House. The wine was also good. We enjoyed a rainy evening in the comfort of this restaurant, and had a wonderful time.

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
