Very noisy but fun

This Pizza Express was very busy and very noisy but it had a good atmosphere. Didn't have a pizza but the Salad main course was good and served with "bits" of warm pizza bread very tasty. Puddings did seem a bit pricy but they looked plentiful and quite large.

Delicious food, plenty of seats for big groups or perfectly sized small tables for couples. Delicious freshly made food and prices very good for somewhere so central, would definitely recommend

One of the girls at our hotel gave us a voucher code for this place. You have to sign up online. It was very busy , so I imagine lots of people have vouchers. I really liked their thin pizzas. We are looking out for another code. We really liked it.

We went for a meal in august before we caught a train. Being right in the centre of town, it was absolutely mobbed. We had to wait a good while for a table and ages for the food. However when the food did come it was good. I'm not sure if you can book tables in advance but would recommend... More

I guess a Pizza Express is a Pizza Express. Warmly friendly staff and a good menu - totally centrally located on the North Bridge in the heart of Edinburgh.

This restaurant is located on the North Bridge, Edinburgh which places it very close to Waverley Railway station, the end of Princes Street and the "Old Town" area. The menu covers all tastes including the usual range of Pizzas and Pasta dishes. Can get very busy so recommend making a reservation to be certain of sitting down at your planned... More

I have not used this long established chain for quite a period. When I was last on a trip to Edinburgh I dropped in but was unable to get a table within a reasonable time so I did not stay. This suggested that it was popular and this time I booked in advance, especially as this trip was in June!... More

Cant believe about the service which I received. Don't go there until or unless you are desperate to ruin your evening/week. Such a grumpy, proudly and ruthless manager they have that I cant believe that pizza express runs this place. Horrible service and ok food

The good points; tasty pizza and a vacant table on a Sunday night in June. Less good; vastly over-priced (seven pounds for a beer!), formulaic menu written in tiny type. The credit card machine broke and the manageress made a corny joke at our expense about how we could do dishes if we could not pay, when the problem was... More

We visited this restaurant on a weekday evening after a night at the cinema, rather than get takeaway pizza on the way home. So glad we did! The food was delicious, the service was fast and friendly and the visit was a real pleasure - we will be back!

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
