Had a quick lunch here whilst visiting Fringe. Very busy, rain had people rushing for lunch inside. Waiter pleasant, and efficient. Pizza Four Seasons pretty good, but daft price at £11 plus. Two pizzas one glass of wine, Diet Coke two coffees and two desserts £50. Must be making a fortune. But it delivered a pretty standard Pizza Express experience,... More

We came to the restaurant at 9pm during the Fringe Festival, which was clearly a very busy time for the restaurant, which appeared full from the outside. However, we were seated immediately and were waited on very attentively. Seven chefs in the kitchen ensured that our pizzas arrived promptly and maintained the high quality expected at Pizza Express.

Visited in between shows at The Fringe and explained to our waiter we were tight for time. Excellent Chicken salad and Carbonara pizza served with a smile in 15 minutes Highly recommended

After a long day of touring Edinburgh we needed a pizza fix and Pizza Express delivered. We were very hungry and tired. Service was quick, food came out hot and fast. Lots of good choices in pizzas.

We came here after a late Fringe show. It was only 9.00 - so not that late - and the place wasn't too busy. Friendly staff, and my wife's salad was lovely, but my pizza quatro stagioni was thin and dry, with bare pastry in parts. Having been offered desserts, we waited 18 minutes before I gave up and went... More

We were a party of 6 and had lunch, both of the femail staff were stern faced, unfriendly and one was down right rude; got the biggest dirty look when I stood in line for the disabled toilet and refused her " offer" to use toilet downstairs, not all disabilities are obvious sweet heart! The food was not good at... More

We were touring around for most of the afternoon, and at 3pm we ran out of steam. We were very happy to be able to eat so well (near our hotel, the Carlton) at this time of day, off hours between lunch and dinner. The service was very good, the food delicious and we went away happy. A crowd pleaser,... More

Excellent service, good food, children loved their menus which they decorated, the food and the stickers (one went to bed still wearing his stickers on has face!) We went as a group of eight and so had booked in advance. Service was excellent, the waiter remembering everyone's order correctly.

We ate here twice. The food is delicious food and their gluten free pizza options were delicious! I would recommend if you are looking for GF options.

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
