Amazing meal!

Enjoyed the pre theatre menu tonight with my family. Service, food and ambience were all excellent. Wonderful fusion of colour, flavour and spices. Fresh Thai food at its supreme best.

We chose this restaurant on the basis of the TripAdvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavour. The service was quite excellent. Suggest you book a table as we found that all the tables were full by the time we left (we had a midweek booking).

The staff were fantastic and the food was outstanding. We would definitely revisit if in the area again.

Our quest to find authentic, fresh, and vibrant Thai cooking in Edinburgh came to its conclusion with our visit to Passorn. Here, they really use fresh ingredients to prepare fragrant, intense, and complex dishes of truly exceptional quality. As appetisers I can recommend Miang - Yum Pla Grob, crispy seabass with a lime juice dressing, very fresh, complex, lemony, bright,... More

I love this restaurant food is always amazing very tasty and authentic, service is always great - it's not that expensive as some have stated - if you want cheap chinese take away go to a take away - if you want real Thai food come here and enjoy. I am from Newcastle and when in Edinburgh always come here... More

We went to the Passorn due to the high number of good reviews and we weren't disappointed. The food was excellent, really delicious and the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We didn't book in advance so I think we were fortunate to get a table. I would recommend booking in advance just in case. If... More

I'm not an expert in Thai food but I can discern bad ingredients and mass produced sauces in any style of food... Passorn pride themselves on using good ingredients and it shows. The staff are smiling, helpful and attentive, although their accents make it necessary to ask them to repeat things quite often, and neither of us is hard of... More

I've been here twice now and I cannot fault it. You will leave totally stuffed. We had one family member who commented on the size of the portions and then proceeded to clear her plate. Service is fantastic and the menu isn't too huge so you can spend less time reading pages and pages and more time enjoying your meal.... More

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighborhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighborhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
