We went to Passorn to celebrate my husband's birthday after hearing good reports about the food. The food was excellent, different from standard Thai restaurants I've been to. The staff were very attentive and explained the dishes to us. I had mentioned that it was my husband's birthday and the staff brought out ice cream with a birthday candle and... More

We asked for mild versions of the first course food we ordered however what was delivered was so spicey hot I couldn't eat it because it was burning my mouth and not form heat. The next course was just as hot although we had specified I needed it to be very mild. We eat in Thai restaurants regularly and have... More

This 'review' is a flagrant, unmitigated lie from start to finish and we can only wonder what your motive is. We have notified Tripadvisor that we find your comments utterly suspicious as you have clearly never visited Passon and have, also, clearly never met the owner. The most unbelievable and damnable accusation is that the owner 'abused' you. This is,... More

Another excellent meal at Passorn. My boyfriend and I think of Passorn as our 'treat' place and celebrate most special occasions here! Despite our high expectations of every visit, the food and service never disappoint. We direct any friends visiting Edinburgh to Passorn and the general consensus is that this is the best Thai food you'll find outside of Thailand.... More

I've been here before and had issues. Reserved and it was a Monday! Tried to fit us into a corner table with so little space that couldn't pull the chair out to sit down! Ok, I'm 6 feet tall! The food is good but the portions are tiny! And if charging16-17£ for a dish, then it's too much for about... More

We went to Passorn for a family birthday meal after the great reviews on trip advisor. We were pretty shocked by the attitude of the staff and the terribly slow service. We waited 20 minutes before a drinks order was taken, 45 minutes before we got our starters then one and half hours in between starters and mains!! When my... More

Having eaten at Passorn several times before and enjoyed excellent Thai food I was looking for more. After recent back surgery the walk from Waverley station was at my limits but I was spurred on by the thought of the food to come. I arrived just after 12 noon and was relieved to see from the plaque on the wall... More

Another excellent meal at Passorn. However what really impressed me this time was this: I had forgotten my reading glasses but Cindy the owner was able to lend me a pair they keep for people just like me! That's service!

The food here is second to none, it's tasty, full of flavour and has a good pinch of spice. The monkfish and Thai fish cakes were superb and the standout dishes of the meal. Great service and a nice atmosphere, it is a tiny restaurant so book in order not to be disappointed!

My fiancée wanted to go to a Thai restaurant and this came up as the best in Edinburgh so we decided to give it a try. All I can say is the reputation is more than justified. The food was excellent and the service was first class. The Irish coffee was fantastic! We will definitely come here again.

Excellent professional service, choice of dishes and presentation. The portions were an ideal size, and the food was excellent. We have been looking for a quality Thai restaurant for a while, and are delighted to have found this place. Also think it would be good for larger parties / special occasions. Would definitely recommend to lovers of Thai food.
