I took my elderly parents to this restaurant so that they could try local foods. The staff couldnt have been any better, they were excellent and were so kind when my mother asked for her lamb to be very well done! The food is nicely done and uses local produce. Its good value and we had a lovely evening. more

Had a leisurely lunch before going to rugby at Murrayfield with 5pm kick off. We weren't tempted to nibble at the game as we were still full! We had the 3 course lunch at £13.50 for 3 courses & thought it excellent value for money. We had eaten here a couple of years ago & it hasn't lost the magic.... more

Had lunch at this little gem of a restaurant. We climbed the stairs and entered the restaurant, it was pleasantly furnished and light and airy. The waitress who met us was smiling and very welcoming. We were shown a nice table for two and offered tap or mineral water. Home made bread was brought to the table, very nice indeed.... more

We have just spend a wonderful weekend in Edinburgh, almost entirely with bookings made via reviews on this site. The place most worthy of comment was the Grain Store. We loved it so much we went twice! First time on Saturday night for dinner, which truly was a very special evening. The candlelit atmosphere, the welcoming, attentive and friendly staff,... more

Atmospheric and romantic, this little candle-lit place is tucked away on Victoria Street. The food changes all the time and is seasonal, organic and fantastic, with a great wine list and amazingly good staff. The lunchtime set menu is the best value in town. more

we have just returned from Edinburgh & enjoyed dinner at the Grain Store one evening. Yes, it was a very pleasant experience. The food was great even if a little on the "twee" side. You do need dessert to feel repleat. The atmosphere is lovely, quite romantic yet informal. Nice. The staff are great, professional, efficient & friendly. I guess... more

The Grain Store was probably the best place we ate during a two-week trip to the UK. Yes, it is pricey but the lovely atmosphere, well-prepared and served food and wonderful staff make it all worthwhile. One dinner here makes up for a lot of pre-prepared sandwiches in train stations and jacket potatoes in museum cafes. This is a spot... more
