I met a friend here and was surprised to find the place empty on arrival well into lunchtime. Having sat in the window seat, it would appear our presence made it more attractive to passing punters, which proved to be to our detriment. Most other clients were attended to before we were, and the waiter / barman who dealt with... More

Stopped in for drinks and food on a Sunday afternoon. Antipasti, wine flight and cheeseboard combo is a must. Absolutely superb!

This place is a regular drinking hole for me when I'm out in Edinburgh, with a warm cosy feel, great tasting light food and a great selection of wines by the glass or bottle. It is pretty small so can get pretty full, but it's generally with locals not tourists, which I always take as a good sign of quality... More

I have visited this restaurant many times and was looking forward to my Saturday lunch but what a disappointment. The king prawns were dry and tough no hint of chilli or garlic they had been heated through dumped on a plate with a slice of lemon and wilting rocket. The Parma ham was taken straight from a packet, I watched... More

We ordered bread and olives, penne and tomato, chorizo and potato salad and risotto. The wine was picpoult de pinot and good. The meal was tepid. Only the risotto survived. Is h. Management very kind but need to actually ask what would be required to make food acceptable.

i find any excuse to come to Edinburgh and never miss the opportunity to eat in this fabulous bar. On my last visit, I was alone and sat in the window with a book. The food was wonderful as always. . . .but the bar staff were terrific. Very attentive and the service was spot on. I have recommended to... More

My husband and I went her for dinner after a tour of the Real Mary King’s Close tour. The smoked salmon with risotto was delicious. Great food, location and service. The wine suggestions with the hors d’oeuvre were wonderful. Highly recommend.

Ate at this restaurant our first night in Edinburgh after finding it reviewed on trip advisor. Small and would suggest reservations. Limited menu but worth the wait for the food. Was tasty and did not feel rushed. Not great ambience but definitely a slice of Italy in Scotland

Only had time for a drink but staff were fantastically accommodating and the atmosphere buzzing. The open kitchen gave a chance to watch the exquisite looking food being prepared. The menu was really appealing, the anti pasti lolled exceptional and judging by other reviews, we really missed out by not having time to sample more. Will definitely make it a... More
