Very good, but missing that extra tiny something

I booked lunch here as a birthday treat for my best friend; we were going quite last-minute and this was not my first choice being that I like my food a little more innovative. I'll be honest in saying that it wasn't the best restaurant I have been to, or even in the top five, but it is certainly... read more

We had lunch booked for several months and were really looking forward to visiting the restaurant again, we weren't disappointed. Quite simply stunning - the food is a combination of art and a French culinary masterclass (a couple of pictures to back this up) We did look at the lunch menu which was fantastically priced @£28 for three courses, but... This really is top of the tree. Fantastic food and wine in great surroundings served by well trained professional staff who take their time to make you feel relaxed and enjoy your evening. It is not cheap and you would not expect it to be, you get what you pay for. If you are reading the review because you are... More

We were staying within 50 yards of the restaurant which meant the experience was added to as our accommodation was excellent. It had been a number of years since we had last visited the restaurant, which has grown in size, but is still an intimate environment. The service was excellent, the food was wonderfully presented and cooked to perfection. The... More

Where do I begin! As I’ve noted in previous reviews of RMW, I’ve been coming here since it first opened in 1999 and was lucky enough to dine here again on Saturday evening. I will cut straight to the chase. This ranks as one of the best dining experiences I have had (and I have had many fine dining experiences... More

Nice ambience but portions were so small that we ended up getting a fish supper on the way home. Its more sampling than dining but the bite sizes were nice!

We booked Martin Wishart as a treat for our daughter coming home for the weekend. Fantastic gourmet food, really knowledgeable and friendly staff especially the sommelier who was very helpful as we have limited knowledge of choosing the correct wines. A fabulous lunch treat - thanks.

We visited Marth Wishart at The Shore this evening and feel compelled to review it immediately! The food was simply stunning - a different class of food actually. We all chose taster menus- standard, fish and vegetarian - all of which were excellent. I must draw attention to the desserts which left us quite amazed by the skill of the... More

Went to Martin Wishart as a birthday treat. As a veggie I chose the veggie tasting menu. If you like your vegetables smothered with cream or cheese then you might like it but I have had more imaginative and tastier veggie menus in supposedly inferior restaurants. Really need to try harder with the veggie tasting menu. Far too rich and... More

It is great to go to a restaurant where the decor, the reception, the menu, the food and the service are all outstanding. We went for the special lunch menu and, of course, benefited from al the extras the chef supplies. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and professional and, as they should, knew what everyone had ordered. I had the scallops which... More
