Without doubt the best restaurant I have eaten in. Having dined in various 2 starred restaurants in London I find it remarkable that Restaurant Martin Wishart hasn't gained a second star. Never had a bad meal or a bad service in around 8 years of dining here. Should be number one on any bucket list of Scotland's fine dining scene.

Good food; attentive staff. I was seated next to ( that is aside..as in nearer than I was to my next diner..) the cheese trolley. Now I like cheese, but this is cheese that is spooned out, and the aroma was overwhelming. All encompassing. What did I eat? Think it was cheese. Drink? erm..cheese? Lot of money for cheese with... Stayed a long weekend in Edinburgh by myself and decided to do a few nice things there. Having lunch at Martin Wishart was definitely very pleasant. Couldn't have dinner there as I also wanted to attend the Royal Scottish Symphony at the Usher Hall the same evening. Very satisfying: Attentive service, an ambiance of neuveau elegance, simple menu but delicately... More

I think that if there is someone that can give us a 2 Michelin starred restaurant in Edinburgh is Mr Wishart. He definitely has the right ideas, his food is superb and he knows how to choose beautiful locations. The restaurant in Leith is impeccable with an outstanding menu and excellent service. He uses Scottish produce like Loch Fyne crab... More

This was our daughter's doctorate graduation dinner. I'd been twice before for lunch and knew it would be a wonderful treat for such a special occasion and it was. The food is outstanding but what makes it so good are the super attentive staff who are totally unstuffy. Callum is a wee gem with a wicked dry sense of humour.... More

We took the Tasting Menu and the food was creative and excellent. The service however, wasn't up to mesure. The restaurant reputation would beneficiate to improve the service.

We went for dinner -a birthday celebration ,for my Companion.Had the Tasting menu with wines. It was our fourth visits,in last twelve years.Still a very enjoyable experience, worth the visit and the money. However, the quality is not that when it opened-the food melted in the mouth, and the quality of the were then also,in my opinion,of a higher quality-I realised the local supply can... Large birthday group who all had tasting menus with wine selection albeit from three different tasting menus. While there were certain dishes that were not to everyones taste the overall consensus was that this as a whole is one of the best places to eat this type of food in Scotland. The only dish and wine paring that got a... More

Disappointing. The tasting menus did not offer the experience we had expected and given the renown of the restaurant we felt that it did not live up to this. The food was overly fussy, to the point that there were times we did not really know what it was we were eating. Too much foam and froth and the use... More

After visiting the yacht Britannia we had the best lunch of our trip at Martin Wishart. What a magnificent way to end a Royal morning. The meal will set you back a bit. If you don't spend the money on yourself it goes to the kids. The food and service are #1.
