It's been a few years since we ate at this restaurant so we returned with open minds. The experience was terrific including well cooked food (I didn't realise scallops & turbot could taste that good), a great wine list (we cannot divulge the new dessert wines we tasted as they were superb and need to order our own supply first)... Nice service and food was ok. Not the best Michelin star in Edinburgh. Pleasant atmosphere & staff. Menu felt a little bit safe.

Before I go any farther let me make one thing abundantly clear...The Food was Excellent and what I would have expected from a Restaurant of this calibre, you will not have a poor dish served here and the Chocolate Delice is an experience to value. My issue is with the staged, Staid and Invasive experience, we had 5 different individuals... More

Without doubt, Scotland's best dining experience. Enjoyed a late lunch here. The welcome was like visiting a friend for lunch. The space is beautiful. Service was faultless, food was masterfully prepared and presented. For 1 Michelin Star, the wine list offered pretty good value for money as did the fixed price lunch menu. " Not the Leith I used to... More

A treat for my Birthday and a culinary journey with style. Made to feel special the moment we walked through the door. The restaurant had an atmosphere which belies a place such as this and the efficient staff have time to chat, smile and fuss. The tasting menu was to die for, such diverse flavour combinations that all worked, presented... More

I had a birthday treat here. It is a memory I still cannot shake. We had the tasting menu at lunch. It was early July and it was perfect. I wasn't dressed for the occasion as it was a surprise. The Maitre D was great. I didn't feel out of place. The restaurant was small, but the tables were full.... More

I celebrated my birthday here and the food was devine. We had the fish tasting menu with matching wines. The staff are courteous without being too fussy, and the food looked and tasted delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and highly recommended.
