Had the set lunch with matching wines, a glass of champagne and coffee. Everything was excellent with such attention to detail. Extremely good value for the quality of food. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend for a social treat.

Having tried other top restaurants, Wisharts is still superb and by far my favourite. Innovative, light but satisfying food. Superb service. If only the menu changed more often as I can't eat fish so more restricted in choice - the only reason why we don't go more regularly!

from meet and greet to farewell, this is the best restaurant for miles around. Possibly better than some 3 star restaurants (Mr Ramsey) I have visited. Staff are wonderful, service is unobtrusive and informative, food quite stunningly fresh. Most of us had the tasting menu and could not believe the joy each dish brough. I took my sons who had... We booked a table at Martin Wishart's back in February for a September dinner to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We arrived 25 minutes early, but were shown to our table immediately. There is no bar/waiting area at the restaurant. We were given menus and asked if we wanted drinks before ordering. The waitress was keen to offer help to... More

Although we live abroad, we visit MW 3-4 times per year and love it. The menu changes with the seasons, so we never eat the same dish and the preparation and presentation is excellent. Last week we had duck breast which had been slow-cooked and then grilled and a chocolate dessert which was bursting with flavour and textures. The room... More

We visited for lunch after traipsing around the RY Britannia. What a relief and what a joy. The tasting menu with match wines was just superb with unexpected amuses bouche arriving from time to time. Everything was absolutely excellent. The service was immaculate and the explanations of the food and the wine done so as to be sufficiently informative and... More

couple of years since my last visit - food just excellent, wines outstanding but really on the pricey side, waiting staff all over you and a bit too much for my liking but the food is mwah!!

We had a marvellous lunch, with friends. The mid-week table d'hote menu is £28.50 for three courses; it's excellent value, not least because of the various amuse bouches. The cooking is of a high order and the service professional and friendly. The wine list is to die for, which is what you might do if you pay £2,100 for Laffite... More

Driving up the A1 for a couple of meetings, I was starting to wonder what was in store food wise, I needn't have worried. A couple of drams in the SMWS home in Leith, led us to Martin Wishart's restaurant.i haven't been to Leith in over 20 years, how it has changed. Four of us had the most unobtrusive and... More

This was a restaurant we had wanted to visit for some time - the seafood tasting menu in the evening had some superb food combinations - the quality of the ingredients was of the highest order and the kitchen sympathetically brought out subtle flavours and textures beyond expectation. Only minor criticism of an excellent evening was that the service seemed... More
