We enjoyed our meal here but it was simply ok. Probably wouldn't visit again as it didn't blow us away. more

We were 5 aged 8-70 dining on sunday evening. 4 lamb stues and 1 tagliatella - both dishes tasted wonderful!! 2 bottles of red wine, dessert and main courses; all for 121 pounds; very reasonable!!!!! Very friendly staff and a perfect table wine from Carcasonne (Languedoc-Roussilion district). Remember to book, especially on weekends. When back in Edinburgh, I am definately... more

The food is excellent: we had duck breast with cherry sauce and lamb, as well as fish soup. The service is excellent, prompt and very friendly. All the staff are French, which adds to the authenticity of the restaurant. Wine selection is very good. more

Our expectations were high as we had eaten here before and at a much quieter time of year. We were not disappointed. The service is great, the food may not be to everyone's taste but it is well presented and is excellent. The house wine isgreat value. We will be back more

Rather disappointing. The (basement) room was very crowded and noisy. The lettuce was all bitter and the creme brule was a custard creme rather than the real French thing. All these for quite a lot of money. Not going back there very soon... more

My husband and I stayed in Edinburgh for couple of days and for a night we wanted something different for dinner. We regret going to this place, the service was mediocre and the place was minuscule. Being in a French Restaurant you would think that they would have at least good wine, which was not the case, and to top... more

My friends and I spent 6 days in Scotland last week, and very much enjoyed the views and the Scottish hospitality. In Edinburgh we stopped by this place and what a mistake that was ! Sticky tables, sticky menus, cheap water glasses for the wine, shocking service, clumsy grumpy waiters, well overpriced everything for average (borderline poor) quality of food.... more

We were squeezed onto the smallest table they could fit 4 people on. Even the waiters struggled to walk past the cramp tables. Our wine was served in beakers! ! This is not authentic, just cheap! My fish was ok but definately not worth what I paid for it. Our friend ordered the £18 steak and it was awful. It... more

The food here was good and seemed a good value. However, they have some good specials we missed out on because we came after a certain time (I think 7pm?). The house white wine seemed very tasty although I'm not much of a wine critic. Unfortunately though the experience was influenced by the lack of atmosphere. It has the feel... more
