Delicious

Lovely little restaurant with delicious food. We had a starter and it was quite quick, which was excellent as we were so hungry! Our main came and I couldn't finish mine but they boxed it up for me. We were given free (yes free!) desserts to try and had fun working out which were which from the... read more

Our waitress was absolutely lovely, the food was so good we came back the next day! Highly recommend the pizza and the creamy cheese pasta!

After hearing from colleagues that they thought Mammas served the best pizza in Scotland we gave it a bash. Although the staff were very nice and could not fault the service the food was poor. I ordered a Scotsman pizza which obviously had haggis on but when this arrived there was very little haggis to be seen. The pizza was... More

Hi Blossom thank you so much for taking the time to review us. We are delighted you enjoyed your meal. The free desserts were experiments for our new venture. The pizza are very filling 9" is usually enough for most people. Kind regards, Paul More

Popped in to this restaurant on a very busy post-rugby evening. Although we had not booked the staff quickly found a table for five and had us sitting down in no time. Pizza (The Hot One) was as good as the last time I visited. I would certainly recommend a visit.

Hi Findlay thank you so much for taking the time to review us. Post rugby can be a little crazy but we do our best to accommodate as many customers as possible. Glad you enjoyed The Hot One, try The Cash(aka the ring of fire) next time. Hopefully in our next home game we will prevent an Irish Grand Slam(well... More

I had read great online reviews and popped in here as it was across the road from our hotel. The staff were super and really made the experience, they didn't rush us as we finished our drinks after our meal even though it was busy. The food was excellent and the sweet potato fries gorgeous! Definitely would return again on... More

Braved the january snow to make it to mammas after experiencing their take out a few day previously. Can thoroughly recommend pizza I tried a couple, and the sides are great, good portion sizes. Definitely can recommend to friends staying in the area.

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
