I had the tuna steak which was fantastic, definitely the most superior dish by far! Son had kids meal deal and enjoyed garlic bread, pizza and ice cream and husband enjoyed his firey pizza! The wine was very good and a decent price for the location. We sat outside, which was lovely but quite squashed and because it's on a... More

We arrived close to closing time but were still warmly greeted. Casual fun atmosphere. Our server was happy to make recommendations which all worked out great. Rocket and mango salad was fresh and delicious. Pizzas were crisp and creative. Will definitely return!

I recently ate here on my holidays and had a very pleasant experience. Fast service and gorgeous food. Great value for money in a lovely part of the city. I cannot compliment the staff anymore. I dealt with an Irish waitress who was very helpful and friendly and encouraged a second visit before we left. Hats off to the chef... More

I came here with some friends while I was traveling in the UK. I wish I wasn't so far away, because I'd love to come back. Although maybe it's good that I am far, or else I'd be spending too much money on their pizza. Seriously, it was fantastic. Our pizzas were perfect. The toppings were fresh and delicious, and... Friendly service, great location in the Grassmarket square, and reasonable food. Due to its location, it clearly caters for the tourists, so food is quick and reasonably basic. I wouldn't rush back, but that said, if you need a quick bite in the centre of Edinburgh, you won't be disappointed.

We popped in late on Friday evening....we were running behind schedule, most places in the grassmarket were packed pubs, and some places were stopping serving. We were seated in no time and made very welcome by the owner. He was obviously very passionate about his business and didn't stint at the personal service. The gluten free pizza my partner ordered... Great little cafe/restaurant. Outside looks quite dull but food was fab. Went in by the off chance and didn't expect much due to the look of it but sat down and got warm conversations from staff and food was lovely. Cheap too.

There aren't many places where you can venture in and ask for a table for 8 (4 of whom are children) and you are greeted with a smile, but here at Mamma's that's exactly what happened. Great service, pizza with an amazing array of toppings, happy children with ice-cream in mugs to take home and a waitress who was patient,... More

I'd not been to Mamma's for a long time (last time was probably when they also had a restaurant in Broughton Street), but many years ago I used to enjoy their food. Unfortunately the pizzas we had there last night were below average. I'm normally quite happy with average - I usually enjoy the food at that large pizza and... More

I have been coming to mammas since the day it opened (more than 100 times) so I feel I have a better view than most. The pizza is great, always crisp, lots of topping and beer and wine out a tumbler. It has retained its originality and 'quirky'ness. I've had better pizza but haven't had a better pizza in Edinburgh.... More
