My daughter and myself arrived late one evening, not wanting a full meal - just a snack. No problem - we were very warmly welcomed and chose to sit in the room with a lively piano player who really enhanced the experience. The vegetarian snacks were amazingly good (I'm not a vegetarian but I would go again because the food... More

A lot of well-cooked vegetarian dishes, salads and delicious sweats . Kind staff, quick service and a cosy place are waiting you to prove that being vegetarian you have plenty of choices !!! I was recommended the vegetarian haggis which was delicious !! In the centre of new town !

Met a friend here for lunch recently, as we both enjoy the food and hadn't visited in a number of years. Soup and salad were excellent and as usual were spoiled for choice. However the toilet for the use of patrons in the area down the steps from the cashier is small, cramped and in extremely poor condition. The corridor... More

We went in the evening and the table service was good. We only had main courses as we had a show to catch. Everyone in the party thought that the food was lukewarm at best and should have been served much hotter. Even the plates themselves were cold. The Biryani tasted as if the spices were raw and uncooked -... More

Highly recommended place, Great menu with vegan options available too. My favorite were actually all three courses. Starter - The sweet potato fritters were great and a good vegan option. Main - Oven backed aubergine with vegetable tamari stuffing was great with dauphinoise potatoes. Was very filling. Desserts - Crumble was just heaven, baked with apple, dates and pear. Will... More

On a cold, rainy day in Edinburgh, this was just the place for lunch. The meals at lunch are served cafeteria style. At dinner there is table service. We enjoyed the vegetarian haggis. The lunch entrees could be halved and served with soup or salad which is a nice option. There are many options and amazing cold salads and hot... More

Used to come here frequently, but after Saturdays experience will never put my foot over the threshold. Food was bland, and not hot ( especially by the time I managed to get to the table....did the cashier have sleeping sickness). Tables weren't cleared off, no one around to do it. £18 for two lukewarm courses, a poor coffee and a... More

We had the Christmas menu and enjoyed every course. Neither of us is vegetarian and my husband does not eat cheese, but we both found the choice difficult as there was so many lovely combinations of flavours.

I often come here on my own or meet friends here because of its central location. There's no table service so you have to queue, but except at really busy times, like during the Edinburgh Festival, that's not really a problem. The food is excellent, the range of choice good. It's not cheap, given that it's self-service, but people go... More

Numerous and yummy options. I'm not vegetarian, but was craving something not meat based but hearty. Henderson's had some great options - I went for the vegetarian lasagne, which was delicious. Free WiFi as well.
