I booked on 5pm to go for lunch at Britannia Spice and we had quite high expectations. The restaurant always seems to have signs up showing their awards etc and for around £12 we could get two courses! Seemed like a good deal for such an award wining restaurant. When we arrived the waiters (about 3 or 4 of them)... More

Visited Britannia Spice with friends and have to say it was one of the best meals we have had. The restaurant itself is immaculately clean and well presented and has a light airy feel. The tables are well spaced which I always feel is good in order that you have some privacy. We were welcomed at the door by friendly... More

This is my first visit to Britannia Spice Edinburgh. It's excellent food, service ambiance. Cleverly decorated nice and clean and food is brilliant, especially my starter Charcoal grill Tandoori Lamb Chop and my main course Satkora Ghost, staff are very polite and overall is very good and will back.

Lovely food, beautiful surroundings and attentive service however, they tried to charge us for food that was already covered and paid for with our Groupon voucher. The voucher stated that we should receive starter, popadoms, main, rice, naan and beer they insisted it should have said rice OR naan. After arguing over a comma not meaning "or" they backed down.... We had high expectations about this restaurant and have been meaning to try it for ages, however, it was a huge disappointment. Not much atmosphere, although, watching the electrician climb up over the bar to fix some lights (unnecessarily, as it was daylight) provided some entertainment. Really felt this job could have waited until the customers had left. The poppadums... More

Phoned to order a takeaway on Saturday night and was told that the delivery person was sick (alarm bells should have started to ring at this point) and their was no home delivery service that night and if I wanted a take away I would need to pick up myself. I was not put off by this so I ordered.... More

I go to restaurants because I want to eat good food, and was extremely disappointed when I dined there for the first time. Having read that it was 'award winning' perhaps y expectations were set high, but even as a standard curry house, Britannia Spice would have been a flop for food. The only good thing was the veg pakora... More

A group of 10 people, who were in Edinburgh for work, and staying at the Holiday Inn Express, Leith went to the Britannia Spice, Edinburgh for a curry. We had pre-booked a table to 10. It took them 20 minutes to takes our drinks order, then another 20 before they brought them, or shall I say most of them. My... More
