The seabrass and the wine 😘

Super food and wine, and excellent service. We had and 8 course meny and every dish was presented and so was the different wine we had. The wine and dishes worked excellent together. We will return next time we are in Edinburgh.

Liked this place a lot. Approximately 10 tables in this great little find, just up the road from Haymarket. Great food that was a little different from the norm, that made you think you were getting something a little special - and you did as the food was superb. Wine list was excellent with some very affordable options. Attentive service... More

We dined here recently and both had the 8 course taster menu. The food on this was varied, well cooked and delicious. The service is attentive and the bill was a very reasonable £120 which included a bottle of wine. We will return.

I cannot fault the food at The Atelier. I have eaten here twice (both lunch time visits) but would be keen to return for a more intimate evening meal. The service is discreet but efficient and the food is innovative and delicious. The wine is also very good and all for brilliant value for money.

Delicious, inventive food. High quality ingredients. Excellent service. Some lovely touches, such as petits fours that come with coffee. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend.

Hadn't been here for too long, on the back of a visit almost a year ago, and I am very glad I went. The structure of the menu has changed, as now they also have an 8 course tasting menu very honestly priced at £50 per head. But one can stil have the a la carte menu, which is what... More

Being local to the area, I am delighted to recommend the Atelier Restaurant, Morrison Street, Edinburgh. I dine at this outstanding restaurant every time the menu changes (which is often!) and I have never tasted such exquisite, creative food which always surprises and surpasses my expectations. Situated a short stroll from the West End of Edinburgh the team at the... More

I had been missing from this place for too long - I was happy to find that standards have not declined and the cuisine still rocks! Maybe the star of this dinner was a starter of sweetbreads, perfectly cooked and caramelised, served in a bowl with Jerusalem artichokes chips that gave a splendid contrast in texture with the plump meat.... I live nearby and passed in front multiple time without actually stopping by. Finally decided to try with my partner, and oh boy, I didn't regret it! The food was inventive, extremely well prepared and presented. The staff made us aware of the initial wait to make sure starter, main and dessert arrived in a timely manner. Not the type... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
