Wonderful latte and ham and cheese croissant - very well filled with excellent quality meat and tasty Gruyere. Others in the party chose crepes, which looked delicious and, I'm told, were. Banana milkshake could have done with more banana but overall excellent value

The stander in this place really surprised me, I thought this cafe would be good as it is in a competitive area close to the campus, especially there are so many cafes along Nicolson street, I expect the standard would be similar to others, however it isn't. My friend and I came in with the expectation of the name of... More

I have been here many times with my friends since I started studying in Edinburgh, this place has always been a comfort zone for me, and the food and drinks were so comforting too. But lately my friends and I feel that the standard of the food here is rapidly going down. We ordered a few crepes and eggs this... More

After reading the comments here, so I went to this shop to try last week. I ordered the crepe, it wasn't nice. The crepe itself tastes like a very chewy pastry. And the filling is a bit too salted for me. Don't know if my crepe is overlooked or isn't fresh enough. Anyways it's not the best I've tried. Moreover... More

Great hot chocolate, really nice chai latte, my friends say the coffee is good too, and yummy pancakes sweet and savoury! Nice cozy atmosphere and friendly staff too. Open from 9am-7pm on most days.

This café has a pleasant atmosphere and helpful staff. Slight mistake was quickly and efficiently amended. Most crepes cost between £4.5 and £6 – very good value. The coffee was nice and their chocolate cake was well flavoured. Great for enjoying a relaxing lunch.

Standards in what was previously an excellent local café have really slipped. Service was slow, sloppy, uncomprehending (not a language issue, just poor listening and communication skills) and a tad grudging, the tea tasted of whatever chemical they use to clean the coffee machine, so was not made with boiling water, paper napkins were wet, and food that could once... This is definitely my favourite cafe in Edinburgh. I have such a weakness for cute wee cafes but as a student it's often difficult to find somewhere nice that is also cheap enough for my low budget! Le Café Gourmand has it all for me: the coffee is great, the food is amazing (you have try to try their crepes!... More

I have been a regular here for ages but my last few visits weren't up to the usual standard. The crepes were either overdone (and too crispy) or mushy. Additionally, even though I do not mind runny yolks, undercooked egg white is not that appetising. I will not be returning any time soon.

Nutella Crepes, Nutella Hot Chocolate & Nutella Milk Shakes, tried & loved them all! Also tried a few of the wonderfully flavoured authentic Macaroons & cannot stop going on about how amazing the 'Mango & Passion fruit' one was.
