Love this little Italian place. The fresh fish was great and the olives and bread that were served ahead of our meal were so tasty. Asti is a friendly place, and it's located within walking distance of the castle. It's off the beaten path for tourists, which we really liked. Don't miss Asti.

Sunday morning in Edinburgh. Breakfast for six - most enjoyable - only starts at 9.30 though. But well worth waiting for

Popped by for an unplanned lunch. Their set menu was great at £9.95 for 2 courses. Choices were great. Starter options included soup, bruschetta or mussels. Mains included a risotto, couple of pastas and fish of the day. Delicious! Portion sizes were good too, not too big so you have room after your starter. Nice surroundings and not many tables... More

This is a small and simple restaurant with good Italian food. The service is good and so was the wine. We went twice and had the special the first time. Which was very good. The second time we ordered off the menu. The space is cramped and the restaurant fills up quickly. I would suggest reservations.

Having failed to find anywhere serving food in Glasgow after the 7s at the Commonwealth Games (one of most badly organised event in sporting history) the four of us were delighted to find a short walk from our apartment this lovely restaurant. We were welcomed in and served a really tasty full breakfast which set us up for the day.... More

We arrived in Edinburgh late with 2 hungry boys, 4 and 6, so at 21:30 pub food was out. We were directed here by a guy at a bar over the road. The staff were very friendly and had plenty time for boys. Food was great especially the tuna steak. Well worth a visit.

Visited Asti 22 July 2014. Our second time. Was expecting better things. Last July 4 of us enjoyed a superb meal to celebrate my husbands birthday so expected the same this time. Not so. Quite disappointed. The standard was nowhere near as good over all. I had supper here on the previous Sunday, with two girl friends and it was... More

I had saltimbocca; my wife had tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms We had a great red wine from Sardinia. The restaurant was nicely priced. The staff was warm, and attentive. We came in on a busy Saturday without a reservation and they were able to accommodate us. We stayed at the 7 London B&B and Lynda had suggested we go to... More

Really delicious food and charming service. Superb pasta dishes and a fresh take on trattoria staples like Saltimbocca alla Romana and lasagne. Yummy desserts. 6 of us ate here and ordered different dishes, but we all agreed that if the waiter had made a mistake and put the wrong plate in front of us, we would still have been very... More

Simple - not formal - just excellent food. Larger inside than imagined. Outstanding soup and entrees. A new find.
