This is the place you must go if you have no idea about Indian food. Because it is the extra courteous staff that will make you feel at ease. They would go out of their way to explain things to you. And help you fall in love with Indian food. Also - if you are vegetarian they have much to... More

Visited midweek evening. The menu is more diverse than usual. Liked the aloo jeera side dish. My balti was a bit overdone with tomatoes. Waiter mixed up drinks - wrong beer arrived. Could have done with a hot towel to wipe sticky fingers. Overall didn't see this place as better than average.

A group of six of us ate here before heading off to The Lyceum. Very generous portions of very tasty food served by waiters who were friendly and who had a real sense of fun. What's not to like?

Visited this restaurant and food was ok, the service wasn't the greatest as the staff hang around the table which made us feel a little uncomfortable.

Had a dinner at the restaurant during my stay in Edinburgh. Must say food was tasty and of good quality. Staff very nice and welcoming. I would suggest when in Edinburgh if you have craving for Indian food Kamasutra is the place. All the best to the team Kamasutra.

The food here was very good and the service just as good and prompt. The lamb shank was just brilliant and even the starters was great. The sharing platter for the starters is a lot for 2 people and could really

We both ate here last night as I have a tastecard (starter and main course is 2 for 1). The restaurant is lovely and traditional. The food is extremely tasty and the fact that we were getting the second person free did not mean small portions. Both pakoras had around 5 pieces each and the butter chicken was delicious. My... Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
