Excellent Food and Service

Really delicious curry and tandoori - the king prawns were excellent! Attentive but not hovering staff and very friendly. Mid range cost. Good value and quality food.

Great food, very tasty and friendly service! Great setting and just a nice option for a great Indian meal! Would book it at popular times as it does get busy it seems!

We had a great meal here and the service was very pleasant. All the courses were fresh and cooked to our taste. The prices are average for Indian fare, not expenve but the food was extremely nice. I would have no hesitation eating here again. We had a couple of drinks with our meal and it came to around £45... More

Four of us had a fantastic meal here last Saturday. We went for the pre-theatre dinner which was great value with starter and main course at £9.95. We have eaten here many times before and always find the staff really friendly and the food delicious, with a great selection to choose from including choices for vegetarians. The standard has never... More

The food was superb. There were many vegetarian options to choose from and the garlic and cheese was amazing. The service was professional but friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect for romantic evenings, or even for gatherings with friends or family. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.

I eat here last Saturday and ordered starter, main course and dessert. Took my time as i was staying just across the road in Sheraton Hotel. In starters i ordered King prawn which was cooked to perfection, and in main course ordered hotpot chicken which was beautifully cooked to perfection. Bit hot for me but had very good flavors. The... Food was not great at all. Both starters and mains lacked any flavour. It was not seasoned and we left the majority of it. The merlot we had seemed to have been watered down. The naan breads, however, were good. The waitress was extremely sweet and was most helpful, however the food was a massive let down.

Return visit after many years and tempted to try it out again given the 'Trip Advisor' reviews from 2012/13 posted on the windows. Should have questioned why there were no current ones but after my meal, this was self evident. Service ok. Food terrible. Even the popadums were poor. I had a hot dish which was all fire and no... This was one of the best restaurants I've eaten at. The waiters were attentive and polite. We did not have to wait for long on our meal and were given a starter almost as soon as we arrived. Food was delicious and was presented well. The restaurant was clean and very busy but plenty of tables so no hanging around... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
