Great food and services: one of the best experiences!

Serving Indian food to a foodie Indian, who "can cook" is challenging. At most of the places I had Indian, rarely I find the actual Indian food cooked and tasted the way it should be. Either it's very mild, less spices/ingredients or the way it is cooked - something seem to be not right!! But at... read more

This place was great and they totally understood what vegan food was. We were really grateful to come here after coming straight from the airport and being really hungry. Looking forward to going back again before we head out of Scotland.

Ate here last night for the first time. I must say I was impressed, wonderful friendly service and delicious food. Only one thing though if like me you have the Madras on your first visit to a restaurant beware this one is very very hot although delicious the hottest I have ever had. Lovely

We had an absolutely delightful dinner experience here after having initially hesitated from hearing the name. But as soon as we stepped in we were very much welcomed and the head chef even came out to greet us and take our orders along with providing recommendations. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and the wall art was thankfully... More

This place was just absolutely fantastic! The service was impeccable as we had a party of eleven and they were extremely accommodating. The food was also incredible! You must go here, it's an experience you won't want a miss!! I would recommend not bringing children as this place does have a lot of explicit pictures

Indian cuisine can be a sensuous experience bit not in Kama Sutra. In spite of having an enticing name, it is just a run of the mill eating house. Though staff members are courteous. I ordered Sri Lankan Lamb korma and aubergine. Both these dishes proved to be greasy. Freshly cooked chapatis were excellent though.

Saturday night during Edinburgh Festival and we managed to get a table - very lucky! This feels like a family run restaurant with everyone playing their part. We were greeted by a young young man who showed us to a quiet table at the back of what is a very popular restaurant for those who know their curry. Service was... More

Located in the city with parking free after 6.30 was a bonus for me, nice clean restaurant and was happy to see the management from the Glasgow branch in attendance. They both informed me of the best dies to try and true to there word, both dishes were amazing, (Manchurian, and the other curry pakora) although I could be wrong... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
