The restaurant is hidden away by Usher Hall, but don't let that fool you - you'll still need a reservation especially during the festival. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, the service is impeccable and friendly, and the sushi is fresh and spectacular. Not extremely cheap, but not expensive for the quality at all. Highly recommend the octopus fish... More

We went to this restaurant 2 nights in a row because we loved it this much! Great service, fresh dishes and good ambience. The menu was creative compared to other Japanese restaurants. Talking about price, we spent almost GBP 100 each night (for two) with wine. I really recommend!

Have previously had take-away sushi from this restaurant so this time went for a sit-down meal. The sushi was still really well executed. The portion sizes are really generous and makes it feel like it is good value. Delicious. The service was friendly, patient and diligent, but unobtrusive. The restaurant environs are very clean and modern. I would recommend this... More

We've eaten here twice and we're back in August, so hopefully this speaks volumes. It's a quaint little restaurant with an open kitchen. Food is simply amazing and I'm hard to please (boyfriend less fussy!). Get the dragon roll - wow wow wow! Oh and get the saki warm. Delish, but prepare for the hangover! :)

It's one of my favorite restaurants in Edinburgh. Sashimi was very fresh! Was gonna go there again the next day but they closed on Mondays.

Could not fault the sushi here. Outstanding. We had tokyo rolls, california rolls, soft shell crab rolls, teriyaki steak, aubergine with miso, seared tuna and tempura calemari with sushi rice Absolutely gorgeous, delicious - a must-eat - next time in Edinburgh we shall definitely eat here again. We booked this a couple of months in advance so do the same... More

My wife and I have just finished lunch and had to say how much we enjoyed it. The sushi was excellent, seared tuna just melted in your mouth and the tempura of calamari and prawns were outstanding. I can only highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back

YUM! Every single dish we ate here was brilliant! Soft shell crab, salmon sashimi, grilled tuna, prawn tempura - perfect restaurant for a quite night out and couples. We sat at the bar and it was a very relaxed atmosphere for us cause we didn't make a reservation. Can't wait to go back!

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
