This restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, the food is always great. Perfect if you're in the mood for something a bit different from the usual japanese dishes you find everywhere else.

We went to eat here on a recommendation by a friend and I was not disappointed. The fish was fresh, the selection unique but with most of the staple favourites. If your friends don't like the idea of raw fish, then there is still a good selection of cooked and vegetarian. But come on, we are all going to visit... More

This is probably one of the best Japanese restaurants we have ever been to. The food is to die for. Service is top. If this restaurant were to be in my town It would definitely be my favourite one.

I booked a 1.45pm table for lunch and was told that last orders would be at 2.15. On arriving there was a certain amount of confusion over the booking (I could clearly see my first name on the 'list') and we were eventually shown to our seats in this attractively presented restaurant at 1.50. We were given the menus and... More

We were walk-in customers with no reservation. The waiter insisted that the restaurant was fully booked but seemed pretty confused after spending 5 minutes staring at the reservation list. Another waitress came along and quickly offered us a seat. The somewhat confused waiter then took our order but was obvious that he was not confident in his English. Food came... More

This is easily the best Japanese food I have eaten in the UK, and stands comparison with much in Japan (where my experience is admittedly less extensive). Tables for three seemed hard to come by, so we booked for four, and were pleased we did. I have moaned elsewhere about the difficulty in replacing Oishii as our Edinburgh Japanese of... More

We had a lovely meal here - our second visit. Food again was excellent. Delicious food brought to our table as it was cooked. Friendly service.

There are no conveyor belts at this small select restaurant by the Usher Hall, but the sushi is first rate. However, choosing what to eat is problematic, particularly if you are not familiar with Japanese food. You can sit at the counter and watch the chefs at work, I believe, but most sit at tables and it's often a surprise... More

Where to start……12 of us packed into this small room for a Japanese lunch. When the staff noticed how many people we had coming in, they assigned 3 servers to us which we very much appreciated. The place was not very bust as it was late for lunch and their kitchen closes mid afternoon so they can prepare for dinner.... More

Managed to get a late booking for my wife & I and our two kids which, given that it was the second weekend of the festival, was a surprise. On arrival the staff were very helpful & we ended up in a private booth which was ideal with the kids, giving us a bit of privacy and the other diners... More
