The chocolate tree is simply outstanding and will remain in my memories forever. This is partly because our daughter arranged a suprise meeting in their tiny little backroom with some friends but largely due to the outstanding service and to die for chocolate. The little backroom is absolutely devine, really tiny and very romantic. We had all sorts of delicacies... More

If you are a chocoholic, this place is for you. If you're not, go anyway but you might find some of the selections a bit intense for your taste! We went here for dessert after a meal at Papilio's up the street. I had a sea salted caramel tart that was literally to die for, and a "winter spice" hot... More

This is a very popular little place we had to reserve a table and come back for a hot choc because there was no where to sit. Try the pistachio macaroons as they are the best (we tried them all). You can get different flavour hot chocolate and even request soya milk! A very lovely little place to stop. Definitely... More

They serve good churros (highly quality) and delicious ice creams. Macaroons are quite nice too! Environment are quite okay! Heard the chocolate are very delicious but yet to try their chocolate drink! Look forward to visit again xx

A visit has been an annual event for the last 4 years and its always been excellent coffee and atmosphere. This time they have reduced the number of seats inside so we had to use the outside seating - fortunately it was warm. The coffees were all luke warm and weak. The bottled water appeared dirty so we didn't use... More

Hi Christopher, thanks for your feedback. I am sorry we disappointed on your most recent visit. We had to change the layout to allow our passion for fine chocolate not to be obscured by the cafe side which was becoming overwhelmingly busy, and very challenging to operate in the space. We wrote to our regular customers before the change last... More

I like the look of chocolate tree. and it smells delightful. however, i had to repeat my request several times whilst making an order and the assistant looked at me as if i was simple. when i asked for a receipt with my tea and hot chocolate, she repeatedly said i would have to pay before getting a receipt. i... Hi Kittygurlz Thanks for your feedback, apologies for the strange & unclear communication you received from our staff. We constantly remind our staff that if they are having a bad day to leave it behind when they come to work. Our staff would not normally behave in such a manner so I will address this with them. As you mentioned... More

This place is a chocolate connoisseurs dream come true. My taste buds go intergalactic whenever I visit!! My absolute favourite is the dairy and soy free hot chocolate shot with it's deep, spicy flavours but the ice-cream, cakes, and various treats all knock-you-out with their gorgeousness! The whole cafe experience is divine. :)

The churros were AMAZING! I haven't had something so good in ages. I think they make them to order because they arrived warm and we needed to wait while they made the remaining one (they made them in batches). The hot chocolate was fantastic (we tried orange spice, milk chocolate, venezuelan) and I'm not normaly a fan of macaroons but... More

As an extreme chocoholic and vegan this place is heaven for me. They have plenty of vegan options and every one of them that I have tried has been delectable. I am particularly fond of their cakes, and it takes a lot of restraint to not get a slice every time I walk in. The staff have always been very... More

For those who visit on holiday to Edinburgh, this is a tad far from the city centre, and many places nearer the centre (Such as Jordan Valley foodstore and others) sell their bars, so if you would like to experience the chocolate yet unable to make the trip out, I definitely recommend it. The shop is cosy and small, with... More
