A really lovely little find

My husband and I had a weekend on our own for my birthday last Friday. We booked well in advance for our meal in origano because we were aware that it was a tiny little place. I'm so glad we did because when we arrived it was busy. We had superb sicilian white wine excellent garlic bread and... read more

We managed to get a table in here by chance on a Tuesday night. It's a lovely little quaint room with nice decor and lighting. we shared a large thin based pizza, a sharing pkatter and a bottle of wine, I can say that the food was extremely well presented and very fresh, the wine and the service were both... Amazing food and even better service-and I've come all the way from Australia! They make better pizza than the Italians do. Quiet, intimate and homely. Love the personal experience you create from smaller places; you really get to know the staff and create conversation with them. Banoffi pie for dessert-a must try!

Having read the reviews on trip advisor, put Oregano on the list of places to try in Edinburgh and had tried to get a reservation on a few occasions, but always fully booked. Finally managed to get a table and can't really share the enthusiasm of others. Very small restaurant that we managed to get parked just outside. Tables were... More

Went to eat Friday night. Small restaurant, bohemian in style and on Leith Road on outskirts. We worked out 22 covers. Had reservation for 3 by email. Seemed to be 2 guys running place. Service superb. Attentive, humorous without being overbearing. Well constructed simple Italian menu. Everything was executed and timed really well. Had an awful experience a few weeks... More

We love this place and since finding it keep coming back. Small restaurant always seems to be full so definitely a good idea to book in advance to make sure you get a table. Great food, service and atmosphere. Standard pizza restaurant prices but a lovely cosy independent little restaurant rather than one of the chains which I really like.... More

Great find, lovely atmosphere, great pizzas, friendly staff. We have been twice since discovering the delights of Origano and enjoyed both occasions. BYO Mondays and Tuesdays. Takeaways also available (as are deliveries I believe). Best things come in small packages. Must book.

Thanks trip advisor we had one night in the city and always like to discover new things and this was just perfect. We rang ahead and reserved a table. We arrived to the small and clean restaurant with great character throughout. The service was timed perfectly and the food was great quality.
