Popped in here with my nephew twice last evening for drinks both before and after a lovely meal in a nearby restaurant. Drinks were reasonable and the service was very prompt. However, the place was packed out with both locals and visitors alike watching World Cup football on the big screens so we didn't stay long as neither of us... More

On a recent trip to Scotland, our AirBNB host suggested we eat at Bailies. We weren't disappointed. Not only did it have a wonderful atmosphere, filled with dark colors, lovely booths, and a lot of local flavor, but it was also filled with many patrons who seemed to be enjoying themselves. We ate great pub food including fish and chips... More

If in the Princes Street area, definitely worth dropping for excellent traditional and other meal specialties.

Great place to stop off for a pint! Vibrant bar that offers secluded areas to have a quiet chat and a few drinks.

Let's face it, it's a pub. A pub with good beer (if slightly more expensive than most). The food is what you would find in your average pub selling food. However the fish is particularly fine. It's a cosy place in the winter with one of the few bars to still have a real fire (but make sure you have... More

I ate here last night with my family and a couple of locals . Our local friend told us this was an authentic bar that served excellent food and he was absolutely right. The bar is huge and round. You can picture it being around for hundreds of years and it has been. They offer many different local ale options... More

Atmosphere, horseshoe shaped bar. Good bar grub. Open fire in the winter and live music on occasion. If you want to meet a local you'll find several in here at any time of the day or night.

Even though they've upgraded their famous club sandwich to a trendy ciabatta, Bailie's still offers the best pub nosh in Edinburgh, all in an atmospheric basement surroundings with invariably friendly staff.
