Booked a visit to Edinburgh at very short notice so delighted to find this 'little gem' located just 5 minutes from our hotel. Great ambience, friendly service, delicious and imaginative food beautifully presented. We had a lovely evening and can't wait to go back..

A little out of the city centre, this family run restaurant is well worth visiting. A friendly, welcoming establishment, with a good menu, excellently cooked and presented food, you would happily pay more for in other establishments. Bottles of wine were also well priced. Attentive staff, including the chef, who was willing to chat with the customers. Would certainly go... More

My wife, daughter and I dined in this fabulous boutique style French restaurant. Located a few minutes from the city centre, do not let the very short trip deter you from visiting this hidden gem. On our arrival we were personally greeted by the owner/chef Denis; a very cheery and welcoming French man. His daughter Leora, was an excellent hostess,... More

Good food well presented, friendly service. Not cheap, but reasonable value. Three courses for two with a mid-priced bottle of wine came to £75.

Edinburgh is blessed with a surfeit of excellent independently run hotels and restaurants. Cafe Cassis is one of them. A little out of the way but worth the diversion. I had the pre theatre menu. Crepe, rib eye and a selection of cheese all for £16.90. Steak cooked 'french blue'. I've lost count of the number I have sent back... More

My friend and I came here Sat 24th Jan and enjoyed a delicious lunch for my birthday. Tasty, well-presented food and excellent value lunch deal. Service was excellent - quick, efficient and lovely staff. What a lovely little restaurant. We will most definitely be back. Thank you!

I went with my GF to this restaurant based on reviews from TA. The location is about 15 mins from the town centre in the basement of a hotel. The staff were friendly and very welcoming to what looks like a cross between a British cafe and contemporary restaurant. A bit odd as it's clearly French cuisine (of which there... More
