We are an independent family run and family friendly cafe and bakery. Freshly made is our hallmark....everything is made daily including soups, salads, quiches, pizza, bread and cakes. Uncompromising in our coffee beans supplied by Artisan Roast and our loose leaf teas from Pekoe Tea. Modern, airy, (expensive!)

I've read mixed reviews about Loudons, but I really enjoyed my experience here. I visited for breakfast with my boyfriend. We were seated right away, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The service was medium speed, but acceptable considering how busy it was. The place had a light and... read more

Sad to say I was very disappointed with my visit. I'm local and have avoided as I have been in a couple of times and it was always a bit chaotic, however I heard things had improved. Perhaps the desperate cry for waiting staff in the window should have been the give away...... The food was ok but I or... More

Six of us ate here for breakfast on Sunday and all agreed that Loudons was fabulous, the café is bright an airy, food was great and service outstanding. I ordered Eggs Benedict which were absolutely delicious. The bread is homemade so I would highly recommend ordering a side of toast just to sample the bread, my friends also ordered the... More

Excellent atmosphere with good brunch. The personnel was very attentive and proactive. I could easily sit there for hours and enjoy tea & coffee while reading a good book.

My daughter and I cycled to Loudons on Mother's Day for tea and cake. When we got there we were told there was no hot food, just drinks and cake. That was fine with us. However, I went to look at the cake counter and there were just a few bits of stale looking pieces of cake. It took ages... More

My third visit here over different days and times. I really want to like the place but the service has been chaotic on all of these visits.

I started coming here about 2 year ago, since then it seem s to have been taken over by a new crowd who had utterly transformed the place into my favourite café in Edinburgh (and I’d tried many). The have hands down the best eggs and sausage in Edinburgh. The full brekkie is awesome as well. They serve black filter... More

Popped in here on a recent Friday afternoon for a snack (we were dining at The Kitchin that evening!) - large open area, so even with a number of tables occupied there was a feeling of lots of space - there were 3 of us, so we had variations on the theme of coffee, hot chocolate & cakes/pastries/cookies. We all... More

Lovely place, lovely food and atmosphere. We have drunk flat whites all over, including Australia, for me the spiritual home of flat whites, and never anywhere had such a tiny flat white. Tasted great but was gone in two sips. Sorry, I think you are getting that wrong, flat whites are not large coffees but the 'average' is larger than... More

Popped in for lunch by chance due to pouring rain/snow. I was very impressed, it has a light airy atmosphere. The staff were attentive and helpful. A fantastic range of gluten free options for those wanting or needing those options. I went for the belly pork which was beautifully cooked. Would certainly visit again when next in the city.
