Wound up here after the Tattoo, and we stayed until the crowds cleared out. Had three different pizzas, and they were all delicious. They have a large assortment of beers, and a few of us had the cocktail of the day, which was weird but very tasty. Wish we had found it sooner.

We were staying in an apartment just behind Porto & Fi and decided to try it for breakfast the first morning. We were not disappointed. The eggs benedict, French toast, hot chocolate, and coffee were all amazing. We went back our second day as well for a repeat.

After a ghostly tour of the graveyards, Porto & Fi served up wonderful hot chocolate with flake (which is now a household item in Florida) as well as shortbread with caramel and chocolate. Who thought shortbread could get any more decadent!

Had lunch here with a friend who lives in the area. We enjoyed the special of the day, a quiche and some soup and got a taste of Elderberry Bubbly which I would dearly love to get my hands on. The service was snappy but not pushy. I would recommend this for lunch anytime!

A recently posted TA review indicates that Porto & Fi on The Mound is closed, and that does seem to be the case. The listing for their location on North Bank Street has been removed from their web site. Which is really too bad. We had an excellent meal there on our last night in Edinburgh. We arrived at 7pm... The restaurant is now closed. The Newhaven branch is still open. Not much more to say until I get to one hundred characters......

Whilst debating where to dine, we were enticed by chalkboard outside Porto-Fi offering Cullen Skink Risotto - we were not disappointed, staff, atmosphere and service second to one. As for the food, absolutely delicious, well presented and most importantly, hot! We will definitely eat here again, and next time leave room for the scrumptious looking deserts.

We so love this cafe that we make a point of always visiting at least once during our annual trip to Edinburgh. Their Cullen Skink risotto is exceptional, not to mention their Eggs Benedict, which comes with either smoked salmon or bacon. The service is friendly but efficient and it's always busy and deserves to be. My only one gripe... More

Lovely restaurant for any time of day. Serves wonderful breakfast, cakes, lunch & dinner so you will never be stuck for something to eat. Food is homely and very tasty. Price is very reasonable. The scones are the best i've had in Edinburgh, with various choices daily. One of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh.
