What lovely people

This place made my day. I am so used to being fobbed off with tasteless or boring food because of my Gluten free diet. I walked into The Waters of Leith and met with warmth, kindness and lots of help. Gluten free, no problem. Lovely food, gorgeous chocolate cake. Close to the Botanical Gardens... read more

We visited recently for a family lunch with parents and two small children. The staff were very welcoming, arriving with toys at the table without being asked. They were very helpful re ordering, particularly around a slightly specific request, and the food was delicious when it came. The facilities for children are great, with space to leave a buggy and... On a cold, damp January afternoon this was the perfect stop for a hot chocolate and wedge of cake. The chocolate was served with cream and marshmallows by a very friendly and helpful waitress who let us view the cakes before ordering. We settled for a freshly baked croissant with home made spiced plum jam and a slab of Gateau... More

Popped in yesterday for brunch, and as ever the service and the food were excellent. Lovely cafe / restaurant with a menu which is simple but always very tasty and appealing. Staff are friendly and service is always attentive. Great option at Canonmills for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just for a quick coffee.

I went with some foreign friends. The staff waited and helped with the translations. The food was nice. Everyone, locals and Spaniards will be going back. Everything has a homemade taste. It is what it says on the packet A Bistro. (not literally of course). Am going back soon with more visitors.

Lost track of the number of times we've eaten here over the last year or so but we've no intention of stopping! There's always an extensive specials board to go with the standard menu so even the most difficult members of our dining group have found something they want to have, and all the dishes are of a very high...
