This fantastic little restaurant provided the perfect setting for my 70th birthday celebrations. We had the whole place to ourselves - 17 adults and 2 children - the food was amazing and the wine was pretty good too! I can honestly say that I can't remember another restaurant meal providing food with such flavour. I'm told that the Cullen Skink... More

Went for breakfast after reading all the reviews. So pleased we did - it was lovely. Will return for lunch next time we're in Leith.

Out of the way and off the main thoroughfare, one could easily walk on by without realising what you might be missing. A hearty welcome was followed by a even heartier rendition of cullin skink which was exemplary - fish and potato in ideal proportions and the creamy broth delivering smoky richness. The main, forging the Auld Alliance in some... More

I'd heard a lot about this place and despite working along the road I've never been. I popped in with a couple of colleagues for a quick bite of lunch and it really is as good as people say. Service is informal and excellent, wine list is good and the menu looked, well, French. I had the Confit of Duck... More

Very nice breakfast only topped by the friendliness of the owners. Well cooked food and very nice coffee on a cold and windy morning. We'll be back!

Not a restaurant but a cafe. But possibly the best cafe I have ever been in. Lovely food - real food made on the spot, made with care and style. They even managed to make a full breakfast look sylish, with extra touches like herbs on the grilled tomato. Lovely staff and even lovely fellow customers! Baby and child friendly,... More

On first impressions the cafe doesn't look very impressive but the friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere win you over. An interesting selection of dishes offered, all made on site, at very reasonable prices. Between us we had fishcakes, soup and brie and bacon ciabatta. All delicious. Service was very quick and unforced. Sticky toffee pudding was yummy and my partner... More

We went here for lunch on our weekend in Edinburgh. It was extremely child friendly with a good kids menu, with lots of variety! We were very impressed with the portion sizes and it was reasonably priced. The food was very good and the service was excellant. We would recommend and would go here again.

I'm very lucky to be local to this cafe. Have been in quite frequently recently to meet other mum friends. It's one of the few places that are baby friendly and serves gorgeous food. Great atmosphere as well. It's a gem tucked away!

Still dreaming of your Cullen skink....what a fantastic find! My family and I absolutely loved this place...went on a wet Wednesday lunchtime in February and it was packed...fab wholesome food, reasonably priced. Very nice friendly owner and immaculate lavatories.....my kind of place.
