One of the highlights of living in Edinburgh is being able to dine regularly at the Water of Leith Cafe Bistro. We were afraid the atmosphere and standards would change when the Bistro moved from Leith to Canonmills but our fears were unfounded. Ana and Mickael have once again created a tasteful ambience which blends perfectly with their great food.... More

Have just been for 3 course meal with colleagues. Would highly recommend this as very friendly, excellent food and great value for money. First experience, but would certainly go back again.

We ended up here for a Christmas Lunch, never having been before. What a lovely surprise! The food was delicious and, as others have rightly said, the service was friendly and efficient. The portions were perfect - we left feeling satisfied but not stuffed - and the venue has a cosy atmosphere that was just right for a December day.... More

This establishment has moved from Coburg Street in Leith to Canonmills in Edinburgh, it sits right on the Water of Leith. Great location and is bigger than the previous place. No change in what they serve up though. Great food at a decent price served with style in a nice atmosphere. It was packed when we were there which is... More

Been here several times since it moved to Canonmills. As usual everything is first class - the food, presentation service, and friendly atmosphere etc. Will return as often as possible

Now ensconced in their new premises, the WoL cafe continues to provide very good value for money. On our recent visit, we had a really good vegetarian main - Veggie haggis, encased in a thin, fueille pastry, with beetroot and walnut salad and butternut squash puree; followed by a lovely light choux pastry 'swan', swimming in a warm chocolate sea.... We had a good lunch here last week. There were many vegetarian choices and my risotto was amazing. The portions were a good size and the prices were reasonable.

1st visit to the relocated cafe/bistro and pleased to find the same comfortable premises serving the same delicious food and drinks. Always a warm welcome. Highly recommended.

I ended up discovering this charming place in Canonmills on Tuesday. The service was so warm and friendly. The food was tasty and my cappuccino made just right. You can tell they know what they are doing. I would recommend to anyone to go there. Good food. Great location. Excellent service.

Our 5th visit, but first to the new premises. The usual friendly welcome from the owner, with the usual varied blackboard specials augmenting the regulars. One of us had wonderful pan-fried pheasant, the other had his usual! Excellent.
