Decent authentic Indian food

I just walked in, received a very friendly welcome, service was decent, not the best but good none the less. I had a lamb curry with rice and naan. The food was very tasty. I would definitely come again.

We were recommended here by a restaurant on holiday as we broke our journey home .We were not disappointed.Large menu with suggested wines. We all shared and tasted each others dishes. The Dosa were great and you don't often find them on Indian menus in the UK.very friendly waiters would recommend to anyone.

I liked it but wouldn't say it was stunning. I would go again. The staff were very polite and helpful, price was not cheap but fair.

My husband visited this restaurant over 20 years ago and never forgot it. During this trip to Edinburgh he took me there and I must say I just loved it! The quality of the food, the ambiance, the service, etc! .

I was really disappointed with this place. We had walked by it a few times and finally decided to try it but were definitely let down. We're a younger couple and we were dressed in just regular clothes to see the city and we definitely felt looked down on. Most people in the restaurant we much old not dressed much... More

In Edinburgh on business - recommended by a colleague so gave it a try? Unfortunately just another pseudo-indian restaurant serving fast-cooked oily curry which is anything but traditional slow-cooked Indian Pakastani authentic fayre. Restuarant is big on presentation, staff in uniforms & nicely laid out tables but frankly the food is worse than average - I can prepare far better... More

I like to think of myself as a curry connoisseur and have experienced various curries from across the land. I rate as one of the best curries I have ever tasted. 5 star dining experience. You have not tasted a curry until you've been to the Indian Cavalry Club!!!!!!!!!!!

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
