Large 3 level pub in the centre of Edinburgh. We have some of the cheapest drink selections in town so we are very popular with students and backpackers. Traditional pub food served at brilliantly low prices. We are not affiliated with the venue known as the Tron Kirk.

A good pub

The decoration might not be trendy, the staff is really friendly, the prices are low and there is some live music. what to ask for more? Thanks for that very nice evening at your place :-)

My boyfriend and I spent a few days in Edinburgh and ate here for dinner every evening - it's cheap, great food and lovely staff, nice friendly pub atmosphere, great to have somewhere reasonably priced when everywhere else is expensive!

I haven't been in this pub for 30+ years and little has changed. We were upstairs in the small bar where the food was good, the drink nice, and the atmosphere convivial. Mostly locals despite its central location and all the better for it. No compromises were made for tourists but all who wandered in seemed happy. A nice place... More

Vary bad experience at this pub, I went to the tron with some friends but was totally desaster : tables not cleaned, horrible service and the staff very rude, probably the worse Guinness ever...we left the place after 15 minutes

My wife and I had a couple of meals at the Tron whilst staying at the Ibis Central in Edinburgh. The Tron is directly across from the hotel making it extremely handy. The food is a mixture of traditional pub foods including curries and burgers. The service is quick, the food is tasty and the beer is cold. Prices are... More

It's my first time in Scotland and coming to the tron definitely made the trip even better. The staff was lovely, especially the French guy in the top bar. Will definitely come back and have already suggested the tron to my friends.

Nice pub in Edimburgh old town. We had burger and fries and the cheapest pints of beer in the hole trip through scotland due to the offers they make depending on the day of the week

Staying in Old Town

Neighborhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavored souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
