If you want to experience a real Lebanese meal this is the place! Truly excellent food served by friendly pleasant staff who went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. They don't serve alcohol but have no problem with you bringing your own. A great atmosphere particularly at weekends. We thoroughly recommend this restaurant!

We searched for restaurants nearby on our TripAdvisor app during our short trip to Edinburgh and ended up it Beirut. It was very near us and the reviews were excellent. We're very glad we did, because it was definitely the best meal we've had in Edinburgh. The restaurant has a BYOB policy, which suited us and our budget just fine.... More

Much like a South Indian restaurant is judged, sometimes unfairly, by the quality of its Sambar (lentils), a middle-eastern food place should be judged by (for vegetarians) it's falafel and bread. On both counts, Beirut disappointed. However, the other dishes that we ordered were good, albeit low on salt: - Hummus Beiruty - an interesting twist to the usual dip... More

Upon visiting Edinburgh on our holiday, my husband and I were trawling the internet for restaurants and stumbled upon this restaurant that was not part of a chain. We generally love Lebanese food and we were not disappointed at Beirut. The service was impeccable and friendly and the food was brilliant value for money and very tasty. We really enjoyed... More

Enjoyed a lovely meal with friends. Food was delicious and the staff great. My chicken dish, which could have been dry, was juicy and fresh. However the decor is tired and worn and definitely lacked atmosphere. I have to say the entrance to the dining area to the toilets could have been cleaner. Come on Beirut, don't rest on your... The food we had was nice and the prices were reasonable. It was BYOB and having never been to one like that we didn't quite know the etiquette. But they were done with that and either changed no corkage or £3 can't quite remember but either way no a lot. The major down side was the table layout. It felt... More

I visited the restaurant on a Sunday evening and it was very quiet. I hadn't realised it was BOYOB so good to know before you go. I wasn't sure what to expect but the setting was very relaxed. The staff were very efficient and the food was served in a good time. The menu had a lot of choice including... More

Good selection of middle eastern food, all the favourites plus a few specialities of the house. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and the service was great. This was our second visit this year and it was a real pleasure to eat here again. It is a byo place and they charge £3 per bottle corkage.
