Got the authentic flavor and soul

Beirut managed to create atmosphere, good service, heart and soul for the food and the flavor is authentic - very well priced - they pulled it off beyond what we expected- will be back any time

I tend not to review a place twice, however my latest visit here was such a contrast to the last I felt I had to. My friend booked the table well in advance and received a confirmation email. However when we arrived they didn't have a table for us however they did give us a table. On previous visits we... More

We were a table of four with different eating requirements. Two of us chose the set menu but added a portion of Kibbeh since they are my favourite. This was a mistake simply because there was far too much food to start off with, and the addition of the kibbeh tipped the quantities over the edge. The food was well-cooked,... More

I went there for my birthday party, I can not describe in words how amazing it was. food was Amazing. The dishes which were not in the menu and we asked they made it and did not even charged for them. Salad, main course, starter specially chicken wings were fantastic. For the cake and desert I do not literally have... More

We ate here last Friday evening after reading reviews. Arrived just after 5pm without a reservation and was shown to a table straight away. Glad we arrived early as an hour later it was full. Friendly waiter took our order whilst dealing with a large group of what I think was Lebanese men, always a good sign. We went for... More

Beirut is tucked away in Nicholson Square near the Mosque Kitchen and is about 10 mins walk out of the city from the Royal Mile in the Southside district of Edinburgh. I tend to think of this area as the Islamic Quarter as there are a multitude of Middle Eastern cafes, takeaways, restaurants and grocery shops that cater for this... More

The food was tasteful as far as I was concerned and plenty of it but some of the family were not impressed especially the one vegetarian. Although they had picked the restaurant for its vegetarian range!

Food is good. Price is great especially for Edinburgh. No alcohol sold but you can take in your own bottle . Cater for gluten free without issue. Locals appeared to eat here which is always a good sign.

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighborhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighborhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
