Love love love love it here, and I have consequently recommended it to further friends and family (from across Europe) who have tried it and loved it too. Cannot fault a thing.... even the deserts are superb. I love the concept of the place- an intimate environment, an interesting menu, freshly cooked, all great tasting, very good value and cracking... Superb little restaurant! TripAdvisor recommended booking - and I'm glad we did! Although we ate early, the restaurant soon filled up, creating a lovely intimate atmosphere. The food was beyond compare - such an original take on Spanish tapas. The waiters were extremely attentive and explained all the specials individually and answered any questions. We would definitely eat here again... More

It is not South-African or, in any case, it has very little from South Africa. It is a Spanish restaurant, with very nutritious and tasty food from the sunny Mediterranean country. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and well-prepared and food is prepared at the moment (no pre-heated, thanks!). In addition, it is in an area of the city close... More

I think it would be the best tapas restaurant that you can find in Edinburgh. Of course, it is not like what you can expect from a original spanish tapas restaurant but it is nice one, worth a try. There are plenty of options as it is usual. We had patatas bravas, peeled prawns, crocodile, sea bass, chicken with apricot... More

We went in on Saturday luckily booked a table since it was full. The restaurant is small but I like the decor and it has a character. I like the idea that you can see into the kitchen from the dinning area which shows that they are hygenic. All the staffs were extremely friendly and the waitress who served us... More

We came here twice during the festival, way off the beaten track. A wide and exotic range of tapas, served quickly, from a fab fusion of Spanish and South African sources. Staff are friendly and helpful. Plentiful range of drinks. You won't be disappointed, a truly good place.

We recommend reservations because this is a small place, perhaps 40 to 50 patrons. We were really late because the Celtics and Polish football fans closed down ordinary traffic patterns. Our hosts were most gracious. Tapas were uniformly delicious. We had eight among four folks. All were superb. The place is noisy, all hard surfaces. Service is really good. If... More

It's not often you encounter South African restaurants let alone "fusion" South African restaurants. So the concept of a South African Spanish place seems odd. But it works. The restaurant has a warm ambience. The food is good and inventive, staff are friendly, and it's all quite unusual and feel-good. Do book if you go. Some good vegetarian options too.

We had albondigas, calamares, gambas al ajillo, jamon and rollitos de calabacin (courgettes with feta). All were delicious. The restaurant was busy but both waiters worked their socks off. The evening got off to a good start when they could not find our reservation but quickly rearranged the tables to fit us in. The South African Sauvignon was a little... More

Went here with my girlfriend for her birthday, and it was a fantastic choice. It's a very welcoming place and small enough so that you always get the attention and service that you would ever want. The food was incredible. There is a huge range, and every dish we ordered was, to use a Spanish word, riquisima. The owner and... More
