OK, so I am actually here right now and reviewing on the fly. The welcome was friendly as we booked ahead to grab the last table. The menu recommends 5 tapas for 2 people and we went with that. The ribs melted like butter; the haggis was very tasty; the meatballs had great flavour and were a favourite; the haddock... More

Another (the 5th) great evening at Indaba. This time with family, they had travelled up from England and had their hearts set on a curry but I persuaded them that they should give Tapas at Indaba a go. They loved the cosy atmosphere, the great staff and the 9 different tapas we selected (with lots of help and suggestions from... More

One of my favourite places in Edinburgh. Though I have been there once only in the last one year but I can still feel the taste - food was yummy and different.

Had an excellent meal before going to the kings theatre. Booking advised. Our selection of tapas came in perfect time. All hot and spaced perfectly to ensure you are not overloaded. Excellent trio of deserts accompanied by an excellent bottle of wine. Perfect start to our evening.

Went for a casual bite with my sister before the Kings Theatre. A friend of hers had suggested Indaba but I had no idea what to expect. What a lovely surprise! Not fancy décor/layout BUT deeelicious food at a very reasonable price. Took the waiter's advice re number of dishes and he was spot on with that and the wine... More

1st time in Edinburgh and a couple of friends suggested that we should go for dinner in Indaba. The place is not big but the food is great and the service as well!

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
