Excellent Tapas

I really didn't want to like this restaurant after reading the responses from the owner on Tripadvisor but I have to say that I thought the food was exquisite. We love tapas and we think this was one of the best tapas restaurants that we've been to. 5 Stars!

Everything was incredible. The food was the tastiest I've eaten in a long long time. Everything was well seasoned and flavoursome! The ribs were delicious and the meat just fell off the bone. Loved the vegetarian haggis too! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I asked lots of questions about the ingredients as I am pregnant and they were... More

Interesting South African/Spanish fusion tapas. So that means great meat, interesting sauces, and a wide variety of gluten free options which they're justifiably proud of. Not huge, so though you may be lucky it's best to book if you can.

We visited this restaurant on a Tuesday night. For a Tuesday it was very busy and had a good atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a really good selection of food with lots of vegetarian options which is unusual for a tapas place. We had the asparagus, girolles, aubergine and tomato stack as well as meatballs... More

We loved this wee restaurant. Not big but it is a bit like you've been transported back to South America. We went on the waiters recommendations, he also happened to be a part owner and the food was delicious. We ordered some Tequilla, just a wee dram or to round out our fun night. We probably over ordered but couldn't... More

Went here based on other reviews and was not disappointed. It is small, under 40 covers, but there were plenty of staff so the service was friendly and attentive. Very tasty food, basically tapas, with a couple of unusual dishes. Nice atmosphere, reasonable prices. Would definitely go back.

I went there last night with my friend for some tapas. After we were served the 3rd one we could not believe how delicious everything was and the following tapas did not let us down either. The desert was even better. There was only one glitch, the waiter forgot about our coffee, but such thing happen and it did not spoil... More

Tapas but not just Spanish food, some with some is African. Interesting menu, good wine and drinks list, excellent service. Ostrich beautifully cooked, a bit expensive but worth trying.

Been to almost all Spanish places in Edinburgh and this is easily one of two of the best :) The atmosphere was nice, the staff and the owner ever so nice, not afraid to crack a joke, and not as stiff as many many other in other restaurants. Now to the food... just as in the title! Tapas were well... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
