I wrote a review about Indaba a few years back; my first visit was within the first few months of its operation and although I saw the potential there were a number of glitches that needed to be improved. Since then I have visited Indaba several times and it is very pleasing to see that it is now a well... More

We visited for an evening meal. The service was efficient and the food good. Slightly different to a Spanish tapas menu, as they sell a combination of Spanish, South African and South American dishes. 4 to 5 dishes are recommended per two diners. The staff were friendly overall and the service quick. Suitable for couples or families with older children.

I chose this for a family birthday meal - it is a little bit different (in a good way) and when you are inviting others to somewhere you like, you always worry it won't be as good or your guests will be disappointed. I really need not have worried, everyone around the table loved it, really enjoyed it. The haggis... More

I went back here as my first visit was so good. Unfortunately the standards have fallen both in quality of food and service. The evening I was there it was not that busy but we had to wait 35 mins for any food. The table beside us who had come in after us was served before us and the waitress... More

Firstly, thanks for your previous review. My wife and I were very dismayed to read this review on our return from a holiday. Usually, when we take a holiday, we close Indaba. This time round, as my wife had been on maternity leave and we had taken extra staff on to cover, we decided to keep Indaba open whilst we... More

I have read a few confused comments about this place: it is a tapas bar, don't expect huge portions! Food was all very good, service attentive and price in line with Edinburgh; we spent around 22£ per head including drinks and leaving the place pretty stuffed! Excellent desserts.

I cannot recommend this place enough. The food was delicious, and there's so much choice and variation. We shared 6 tapas between 2 which was the perfect amount. You also get a lovely bowl of breads and oil free of charge. Service was very friendly and attentive. We received our choices two or three dishes at a time which we... More

After reading all these wonderful reviews in TA I couldn't wait to visit this restaurant. I've been both to Venezuela and Spain, so, I expected Indaba to bring back some good memories. But it didn't. The food was very average and I wonder why it has such terrific reviews! Arepa was OKish but unreasonably pricy. I tried one of the... More

Thanks for taking the time to write your average review. We, like every other restaurant get a mix of reviews because: everyone will have differing opinions about places, just as I totally disagree with a number of your reviews both the good and the bad. Most people like us, you don't. Shame. More

Indaba is quite basic inside but the food more than makes up for lack of furnishings in the restaurant. It truly is finger licking delicious. The only downside is that the dishes came out one at a time - I ate there with a colleague and we would have preferred to have 2 or 3 dishes brought out at one... More

I first visited this restaurant when it had recently opened 3 years ago. I was so excited to go back, but make sure you make a reservation!

First visit to Indaba & will definitely go back again. Food was so tasty and lots of choice for both meat eaters and veggies. Service couldn't be faulted, staff were very friendly and attentive to the right level - not in your face but there when you needed them. Lovely restaurant & would highly recommend!
