This small restaurant has very helpful staff. The took time to talk us through the menu and also the special board of the day. They explained that they recommend five dishes shared between two people and the dishes come when they are ready rather than all together. We were eating per-theatre and the waiter suggested that some dishes would be... More

Thanks Russell S! Great to read this after a disappointing 4 star review. 5/5 for value and we don't even do a pre-theatre deal! More

The quality was great, not exceptionally good. Have tried better tapas in Edinburgh. Just that the portion size was slightly disappointing considering the price we paid for each tapas. Not sure if I would choose to go back again. But overall pleasant experience.

Oh No Jo T, The most disappointing 4 star review I have read! In this review you're saying all our portions are small. Without being specific about which Tapas are small , there is not much for me to work with here. Over time our "value" score has been 4/5. We are well aware that we're not cheap, don't want... More

Visited in March and would have no hesitation recommending this restaurant. A little out of Centre (i.e. 15 minutes from Princess St) but close to Novotel Edinburgh Centre Hotel. Ordered five course as recommend by staff and all were loverly. Wine was good and would return if I visited Edinburgh again.

We luckily sneaked in a late dinner reservation at Indaba after rocking up in Edinburgh hours before. Every part of the meal was exceptional - we would highly recommend all five of our chosen tapas (haloumi salad, calamari, chicken skewers with apricot, pork ribs and chorizo in cider) and the amazing chocolate, melt-in-the-middle pudding. Service and wine were also brilliant.... More

You could walk past this place and miss it as it's not very big. The recommendation is five between two people). The portion size is just right based on this and we came away feeling satisfied but not stuffed full. If you are not used to tapas - they don't all come at once and the order in which dishes... We had a very nice dinner, among others we had patatas bravas, croquetas, queso de cabra con cebolla caramelizada, boquerones and to drink the Alhambra Reserva beer. We loved the food! Not big portions but the quality is high. The waitress was great, she provided a perfect and memorable service. We strongly recommend this place and we will be back... More

Good tapas and very friendly staff. You have to try the goat cheese with caramelized onion. Heaven. The dessert was also very good. Will definitely come back:) Book a table in advance.

For an unpretentious hidden away restaurant this is a goldmine! We had booked and were shown promptly to our seats. The 5 tapas we shared came to us at a steady trickle, which was brilliant, as we could experience the differing wonderful tastes unique to each dish. We had an extra two at the end (one was a repeat of... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
