A good curry house

Great service and good food. A curry house well worth visiting. Popped in without a reservation but no problems for these guys in a packed restaurant. Good value with an excellent bottle of red for £16.

I chose to eat here on the basis of convenience and other reviews. The mixed kebab starter was OK and the service was pretty quick. However the main course of chicken jalfraizi was tasteless and the mixed vegetable side dish was predominantly tomato. The staff were quite attentive but I didn't have the confidence that they could offer a solution... More

Visited on Saturday evening - service was excellent, warm welcome upon arriving and attentive throughout. My partner had visited the restaurant previously and couldn't recommend the food more highly, he was right. I had chicken bhuna which was fantastic and the peshwari naan was the best i've ever tried! Thanks for a great dining experience, we look forward to returning... More

Decentish meal but lacked taste I had a chicken tikka balti from the chefs specials and the wife had a korma. Was hot and plentiful but just did not tickle the taste buds. Came out full but unsatisfied. Nice restaurant and staff friendly. Average but maybe just chose the wrong meal.

The food was reasonable, the ambience was pleasant and the staff were efficient. There was nothing special to make this place stand out though. I wouldn't be in a rush to return

Quite simply the worst Indian restaurant I have ever been in service was poor we waited what seemed like an eternity for our food, when it came it was quite simply disgusting. My friend had a mixed gill and it was hard to determine what was what, all the same colour looked like it was fried all together. We did... More

Excellent meal in this curry house and at a very reasonable price too. The staff were excellent and were very knowledgeable about their menu. The naan breads here are huge so my tip would be to share one. I had the chicken Madras and i really enjoyed it. There was lots of space in the restaurant too which was nice.... More

This Restaurant didnt have the warming atmosphere of most indian places. The food was fine however service was slow and the manager treated me and my wife like we were unimportant and didnt listen to any of our complaints. Wouldnt recommend this place to a friend

The door alarm was blaring all night, we complained about it and were dismissed as if we were delinquents. Absolutely no respect was shown by Omar, the owner of the restaurant, and when we were leaving he stated we'd never be as successful as he was - an absurd thing to say to a guest having already paid. Not one... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
