I keep returning to Chez Jules because it serves up simple, authentic french cuisine. It never disappoints and is very good value for money. The steak i had on this occasion was perfectly cooked and seasoned and the house red, a very willing companion. Look forward to many more visits.

Went for lunch with 3 girlfriends, never been before! House wine good, reasonable and quick to arrive. Chose from two courses £7, plus lots of bread and salad. Service was excellent, food was good tho small portions, atmosphere interesting, almost encouraging you to drink more! Altogether very good value for money. Definitely will go back.

This restaurant in Scotland was a refreshing find. Closest to normal persons (not tourist) french food. Superb desert exceptional salad and bread, just good entrée's. Fantastic atmosphere, down the stairs, not pretentious but friendly charming staff.

We were looking for a french restaurant and stumbled upon Chez Jules. Had a lovely meal with good house wines. Reasonably priced. Only complaint would be the noisy chatter which drowned out the background music. Complimentary bread salami lettuce with dressing and olives a good plus.

Quaint interior, friendly service and very tasty food. I tried the lobster and gnocchi which were both delicious. Well recommended.

Stumbled across Chez Jules last night when the restaurant we were intending to visit on Hanover St was closed. Decided to eat there as the menu looked good & the place seemed lively. All four of us enjoyed our meals, the steaks & sea bass were particularly good. Good service & reasonable prices. An enjoyable experience experience overall.

It's a noisy place so not good if you are after a quiet romantic dinner but the staff are charming with many being young folks from France. The setting is nice with candles, creative artwork, and bistro type tables. What makes it different from a typical French restaurant: It is very Scottish friendly as opposed to the arrogant French experience... More

Wonderful French cafe food. Very lively crowd - glad we had a seat somewhat protected from noise. Prices very good.

A friend suggested here. £7.90 for a 2 course lunch which is reasonable. I had the french onion soup and the mussels and fries(with garlic mayo) .Food was great but mussels didnt seem that fresh, but still was ok. Restaurant very dark with red candles, tables are wobbly, sometimes i would think the candle was going to fall over. No... More

My wife and I had been to this restaurant years ago, but have frequently been to his other restaurant in Edinburgh (Pierre Victoire's) and enjoyed the atmosphere and good food at very reasonable prices. We were not disappointed as far as the food was concerned at Chez Jules when we went there for lunch as both the starters were very... More

You sat at table 28, the restaurant was quietly busy, the food great and it was sunny outside. All was so perfectly calm, professional and efficient. You paid your bill and marched to me : -"Appaling" "aboslutely appaling"you said, "Never had you been rushed so much to finish your meal" you added. -"You should have said" I replied, "we tend...
