Visited Chez Jules last thursday for dinner and it was a great experience. The place has a very nice 'original' french atmosphere, friendly staff and a very nice large menu with many great choices - hard to choose from. Probably one of the best affordable priced restaurants in Edinburgh.

I attended with my girlfriend on a Monday breakfast time. We arrived and we had a continental breakfast. The coffees arrived quite slowly, but who cares you're on holiday. We then ordered pan cakes and croissants which were both nice, however, a little slow to come out. However, the main thing that stuck with me was the pure disorganisation. Staff... More

Amazing, for a minute I thought my staff were running a secondary business in my restaurant and before our normal opening time of 12 Oclock! ( I was surprised considering they are late most of the time!!!) On a serious note : I am afraid we do not serve breakfast in our Chez Jules! More

Visited with friends and would return. The restaurant is cosy and has a good atmosphere. The food was delicious however the toilets were very grubby! If I had gone in before I ate,I may not have eaten. Although overall a nice dining experience in terms of quality of food and value for money. Nice touch to provide free salad and... More

We had the pleasure of passing 'Chez Jules! Restaurant and making the decision to go in for lunch. We had a two course lunch for a very reasonable price. They began by giving us salad, olives and bread (no cost) to eat with our wine before the starter came. My husband started with the seafood soup which was full of... More

I would like to say that I have been in the restaurant before and I was always satisfied. Therefore, once my family came to visit me I thought it would be a great idea for an early dinner. Yet I have to say it was the last time I went there, besides the fact that you get a baguette (burnt... More

We have been twice for the lunch deal, £7.99 for two courses. We had the goats cheese salad to share, both had the steak, then ice cream. The food was great. You get a bowl of dressed salad, olives and pickles, cured meats and bread alongside your drinks before the starter comes. I don't even know how they can do... More

We went here on a busy Saturday night and the place a had a great busy. It's not the type of place to go if you want a quiet meal. The food was well cooked and reasonably price. This place knows what is and does it well. Would be good for large groups also.

Awful music, far too loud. And that's the least of it... Waiting staff overly keen to get you in and more notably out the door, nothing authentic about that or the food as generally the French want you to enjoy where you eat as well as what you eat. Suffice it to say, I could do neither. The food was... More

I can assure you I am authenticaly French! Authentique Oui oui! Salty, sometimes arrogant, delicious always, bordering on insulting often but I can assure you always fully dedicated with my team to the wellfare and enjoyment of my customers. Obviously not all of them... Is Mac Donald really so cheap these days? Incroyable. Aaaah oui...La musique..."Allons enfants de la Patrie!... More
