I ate here with my ten year old daughter and here's what she thought .. "I thought the steak was really nice. The potatoes ... Whatever you call them ... Banana blah blah (dauphinois.) we didn't have to wait long. I remember the owner guy. He's really funny . " From my perspective , this really is just fine dining... More

I visited here yesterday and had the amazing value lunch (£9.90) for 3 courses. I has the goats cheese on croutons, husband had the terrine and others had the French onion soup. All delicious. The coque au vin was delicious - we all good have eaten more! We still had room for the really light banoffee pie. As other diners... More

Their lunch special might be a great value, but their dinner really doesn't live up to the expectation. The servers are all young and welcoming and nice, but the place is way too loud - they play this nice French music, but way too loudly that we needed to shout to hear each other. We ordered Coq au Vin for... More

This restaurant is excellent value for money as all meals come with breads, salads and an antipasto platter just to get you started. The food is an absolute delight and you walk away completely satisfied. This restaurant provides a great French feel that removes you from Scotland and takes you straight to France with every bite.

I came here for lunch with my friends, we all opted for the very reasonably priced lunch menu (2 courses for 7.90 or 3 for 9.90) I had the fish soup which was delicious and hearty, we also got a basket of bread with some nice treats (olives and salami), for the table as well as a bowl of green... This restaurant was recommended to me as an acquaintances favourite in Edinburgh. I was not overly impressed. The mussels (normally a favourite dish of mine in other restaurants) were average and one main course arrived so hot it was inedible, even after 15 minutes. I won't be returning.

We usually try to serve our food cold or barely hot! Don't know what happened this time, we might have had a chef cooking that day!! Oooops! I am so so so sorry. Rest assured that we will correct this as soon as we can in case you might ever come back! Loading the oven in the back of the... More

Unique, difference and enjoyable. This is some of the best food in Edinburgh. However its not fine dining its good down to earth solid cooking. The bread and the lettuce with mustard dressing on the table are brilliant!

Well, it was busy, noisy a bit benches and tables... Hugely enjoyable ambience and a real taste of France. Service was caring food very good. Not cheap - but for this quality in a city centre location reasonable value - and one big thing! no Nouvelle Cuisine - a hearty meal! I think I'll go back.
