I visited Chez Jules last week with my partner and parents for a mid-week catch up. We only came here as our usual haunt was closed for refurb and boy was I glad it was. The atmosphere in this place is great, I felt like I had walked into a bistro in France - cosy and inviting. As soon as... More

We visited on Saturday evening so it was no surprise it was very busy. However, the level of noise at times made it hard to have a conversation. In quieter moments, because we were seated so close to our neighbours, it was difficult to feel like we could have a conversation without people overhearing every word. We started with snails... If you happen to get Jules when you book, he'll probably answer in French - so I responded in my best, school French - and I hoped we had made a booking. He is a great character, and not surprisingly, so is his restaurant. Without knowing much maths, I do know that noise is directly proportional to alcohol intake in... More

First visit here and was very impressed with service and quality of food - grilled sea bass done perfectly. Great atmosphere & buzz in restaurant with some "interesting" arty paintings on walls...and staff were very helpful too. Only slight downside is if you are in a bigger party and get one the bench seats, some can be a bit wobbly... More

Authentic French food in restaurant full of character. Simple menu choices and reasonable prices. The staff were very friendly. A popular venue that we have been to many times and never been disappointed.

My friend and I had a wonderful time at Chez Jules last Thursday after some late night shopping. Sharing a plate of charcuterie with crunchy baguette, my friend had the char grilled steak and I had a whole Scottish lobster, washed down with a bottle of the 'Pierre et Papa' white, all very delicious ! The waitresses were bubbly and attentive... More

Dear Lord !!! Where do I start ? Ordered Goats cheese for my starter, my girlfriend ordered the frogs legs. Order arrived and it was goats chees for me and duck for my girlfriend, in hindsight giving the duck a try would have been a better option. So after sharing my already small starter of goats cheese while we waited... More

I would just like to emphasis this : "This review is the subjective opinion of ONE TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC", NOR MINE. I would like to emphasis also that "swamp, 30 light watt bulbs, road kill and wallpaper paste" form no part of the description of our dishes. I also would like to point out that "grattin... More
