My mother and I went in for a quick meal during the festival...initially they said they were fully booked but then gave us a table on the condition we ordered immediately. We were shown to a table and a waiter took our drinks order.... I ordered a gin and lemonade and my mother a glass of white wine, the waiter... More

Had Sunday lunch here with friends. We had plenty of time, but informed the staff that we had booked to see a show, so would need to leave in an hour and a half. There was no choice in the Bistro, only a set 4 courses at £25, which was more than we wanted, but due to limit of time... More

Two years ago you couldn't get me out of the place. This year it was a different story. We had our annual company meal here and it was, frankly, pretty awful. The choice is very limited during festival time, and one can't blame them for wanting to keep it simple, but dear Heaven, the menu is dull dull dull. They'd... More

Had a delicious cocktail with my daughter this afternoon but the whole experience was spoiled by lack of presentation and it was also served in a chipped glass. Very disappointed , won't be rushing back.

We were a party of six with a reservation having a late dinner after a Fringe Show. What ensued was a two and a half hour display of bad service, poor cooking skills, and a large bill with a 10% "service charge" quietly added and not disclosed. After a lengthy wait, plates were delivered by several waiters asking who ordered... More

Had a pre-show meal with friends and couldn't fault the food or service from the start. Really nice atmosphere convivial to chatting. Wine choice great and food delicious. Will visit again.

Having taken our order the staff member kindly directed us to the hotels special menu offer that saved us £10 for the same food. Staff were efficient and professional yet friendly. The food was very good and arrived promptly. We had a late afternoon bar meal in the open air courtyard.

We didn't stay at the hotel, but we ate at the bistro. The food was fine, and we would have been pleased if it had cost half as much. But it didn't. £16 for a burger. Daylight robbery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Under staffed and when you got there attention, unfriendly staff - food ok but very expensive and a limited menu- will not be back.

the house wine we were given was £13 for a large glass. The atmosphere is nice -but not that good. Service slow ...but they were busy maybe it was just expensive because of the festival. the place has character
