We had dinner two nights in a row in the bistro as part of a package while staying in the hotel. On the first night (Saturday) we ate from a special three course prix fix menu. The starters of mussels and coquilles st Jacques were both very good. Our mains of a chicken dish and fish were ok , however... More

Liked the look of this place and the menu looked great, so booked it, despite the very mixed reviews. In short, it was excellent - great room and food and good service. Between us, we had the French Onion Soup, smoked salmon, scallops and prawn cocktail for starters and all were good. For mains, we had chateaubriand, fish pie and... More

Although we knew this chain of hotel has an expensive menu we were pleasantly surprised at the lovely food and excellent service. The seats were comfortable and the staff very attentive to our needs. The confit of duck was succulent and the raspberry creme brûlée was tasty. The portions are small and the extras were expensive. It was worth it... More

A friend gave us a voucher as a Christmas present for the Hotel du Vin Bistro. The staff were friendly and welcoming when we arrived early for lunch last week. The menu had an excellent choice of dishes and a very extensive wine list (including some expensive wines). Service was prompt and efficient from the well trained restaurant staff. The... More

I've been in the Hotel du Vin restaurant a Friday evening of few weeks ago and I spent there good time. We drink some beers on the bar at the first floor and then we came to the basement to start our dinner. Nice restaurant, great uonion soup, really good wine and a big steak with French fries: these are... More

I found the restaurant staff to have hit the perfect level of service that is both friendly and respectful. The food is certainly typical french Bistro - not top end French, but good-. the servings are not huge but with a 3 course 'formule' type arrangement one is definitely well fed and if you have a healthy appetite there are... I had sort of forgotten about hotel du vin as I don't pass by very often, so it was thanks to an offer email for prix fixe menu and a glass of wine for £14.95 that it got my attention. It was a cold night last night so I was delighted to be seated as close to the open fire... More
