Picked up a decent offer from a voucher website for champagne lunch, the staff were all very helpful however the food was dubious to say the least, the starters were reasonable but the issues started when the mains arrived, my other half ordered the skate and when it arrived it was literally inedible, not sure what was going on in... My daughter & I enjoyed afternoon tea at the Hotel Du Vin with a Kir Royale each, for a very good price from one of the voucher sites. I'd never been before & was keen to visit, due to the site's historical connection with the old 'Bedlam' Asylum. Afternoon tea was lovely, great value for money. We were seated on... More

My boyfriend and I went to the Hotel Du Vin in Edinburgh for a Halloween dinner event, IT WAS AMAZING. With this hotel being a converted asylum, it was the perfect setting for a night of spooky tales. We were given cocktails (eye of newt) to start and were lead into a private room for the main event. The room... More

The Bistro is a delight and a gem with outstanding quality food and service. Breakfast here is great, great buffet selection and delicious hot items, the bacon is definitely the best in any hotel restaurant.

We had a voucher for Champagne Afternoon Tea and went there with friends who also had a voucher. We had a super 3 course lunch, glass of champagne and some very nice wine. There is an excellent wine list and the restaurant is very French looking, totally different to its sister hotel in Glasgow. The sommelier gave us some very... More

If everything else was to the same high standard as the service, then this restaurant would be outstanding. However, there are a number of things that detract somewhat from the dining experience, even though we did enjoy ourselves. First, the service, which was exemplary. Our waiter was highly attentive, and took great care to make completely sure that the food... More

Bought a voucher to visit for a champagne lunch to celebrate our anniversary. Lovely 3 course lunch especially the prawn starter. I had a real French coq au vin, hubby had pork in a mustard sauce. Interesting desserts too, all washed down with champers! The service was excellent, just the right speed to allow time between courses and not too... More

Found this restaurant very dark and hard to read the menu,I was not the only diners with my phone torch on that night. Food was ok but seemed very expensive for what you got. Staff were very helpful and keen to help. There are better places to eat for the kind of money they charge.

Nice cosy location, great and very kind sommelier, and great wine-menu, very tasty food of best quality - definitely worth a visit each time I'll be in Edinburgh!
