Very good Chinese food...

It's very good Chinese food, served by people who really want to offer a good service and seem genuine abut doing so. Great experience. Amazing service. Amazing food. Just do it... You won't regret it. "Traditional" dishes as they should be served. If you want your typical Chinese fare with a flare then this is the place to go.

I have given this great establishment 3 out of 5 for 2 big reasons. I wanted to go for a full 5/5 because I have had great meals here, but those memories have been tainted and I shall explain why. Summary - Great food, expensive, great service, staff never get tips, staff are paid poorly, lovely dining room and good... More

The food was beyond our expectations, cooked to a 1st class standard and there was plenty of it! The service was exquisite and perfectly attentive. Having recently moved to Edinburgh, our eyes have been opened to real Chinese cuisine served in a spotless and upmarket setting.

High quality food in lovely surroundings. A young team of staff who can't help enough. The food is above the average Chinese experience in particular the salt & chilli squid and sizzling Cantonese steak. Although a bit more expensive than most Chinese restaurants it's well worth trying.

There are not many Chinese restaurants that try to offer a higher quality of dining experience but this is one of them and it gets it right. The quality of food was superb and served just at the right pace so that you didn't feel rushed between courses. One reason I'm sure that helps is the lower seating capacity. It... More

For Chinese takeaways around Edinburgh, this probably isn't the cheap (although it's not too expensive either) however the food is very authentic and delicious. The staff are also very friendly and will remember you whether it's for sitting in or takeaway!

Both food and service was excellent. We had fixed menu and choice was good. Not a cheap option, but definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants we have visited.

This was my second visit here. Last time I was blown away by the professional and attentive service from the staff. It was repeated! I turned up without a reservation and, although the restaurant was packed, they found me a table. Prawn Crackers arrived immediately with some water, then I enjoyed gorgeous dumplings followed by Pork Chop and Fried Rice.... More

The food was just absolutely gorgeous! I'd recommend the crispy chilli beef and lemon chicken! The lemon chicken was perfectly crispy with a beautifully balanced sauce - fresh, sweet and tangy! I wish I could eat it all again now! The staff were really down to earth and chatty yet very efficient. Gutted this place isn't my local Chinese!

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
