Amazing

This is the best chinese restaurant I have ever visited in the UK. A wide range of traditional and modern dishes is coupled with outstanding service making this my favourite place to eat in Edinburgh. Everything about it is top class and value for money. This is the best chinese restaurant I have ever visited in the UK. A wide range of traditional and modern dishes is coupled with outstanding service making this my favourite place to eat in Edinburgh. Everything about it is top class and value for money. If you are thinking of giving it a try you will need to book though.

These days it is too easy to get a takeaway, but every now and then I like to visit a chinese restaurant and I can highly recommend this one. The food was fantastic, with good service and pleasant surroundings.

Eat here with my wife last night. Not your typical Chinese. Small seating area, nice decor, staff are excellent, food is very good and wine and drinks reasonably priced. Enjoyed the food and would recommend to anyone.

Great food, stylish décor and fantastic service. What's not to like? This may be a little more expensive than your run-of-the-mill Chinese but I think it's well worth that bit extra. At around £60 for 2 starters, 2 mains and a bottle of wine I really shouldn't complain. Well worth a visit and we shall be returning.

I'd like to think I know my Chinese restaurants, and in the last few months have experienced many from then New World in London to the American Peking in Wan Chai, however for finger-on-the-button, perfectly cooked Chinese food then this restaurant in the New Town area of Edinburgh takes the biscuit (or should that be the fortune cookie?). Not necessarily... More

This place has an odd name, if anything it helps it stand out from the usual places called something like 'Golden Palace Dragon'. Very attentive service, waiting staff will take your coats and take their time with you. The interior is charming and modern. The food is certainly better than your usual Cantonese restaurant, but perhaps not enough to warrant... More

We were surprised at how good Karen's Unicorn turned out to be. We went with low expectations, as every other Chinese restaurant we had tried in Edinburgh since the demise of Wok & Wine has been a tremendous let down. KU were very helpful, and the head waiter very helpful, give that one of is gluten free. Not often the... More

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
