Nice steak but very busy and noisy when we went. Different decor loved the coos on the walls and the little brightly painted ones. Nice loos

Best steak I've ever eaten- delicious! Service was good- the speech they give about all of the different cuts they serve was great but could definitely do with being shortened. Quite pricey but was expected when we booked. The interior design is beautiful although it was strange meeting males in the bathrooms!

Visited the Kyloe restaurant in the Rutland Hotel this weekend for lunch when up for the Rugby. Just at the end of Princes street. Lovely surroundings, modern yet homely. Service was excellent. Fantastic choice of food. I had the beef with black pudding. It's a long time since I had such tender beef that tasted like beef. Highly recommend!

It was the extra matured sirloin for two people and it was suitably expensive and I have never tasted better. Sourced from Simon Howie and cooked perfectly. Restaurant staff welcoming despite our late lunch lunch arrival and still being there when they were full for dinner. Only reason I've not given a 5 rating (and I'm being picky) was the... More

Came with the girlfriends family during cold and windy November. We were welcomed and given a lovely table with a castle view! We all enjoyed steaks and an array of side dishes complimented greatly by an Argentinian Malbec (my favourite). We left very satisfied and can't wait until next time, couldn't recommend this place enough!

I booked in the morning for the same evening. When I arrived I couldn't believe how busy it was on Wednesday night! Nearly all the tables were taken but this wasn't issue at all as the staff was so attentive and efficient and friendly at the same time. I loved the presentation of the steak board and my waitress explained... More

Highly recommend if you are looking for a decent steak. There is an option (free) for the chef to come over and tell you about the different cuts of meat and how they are best cooked etc - I highly recommend this as I never knew that some cuts of steak are actually best cooked medium, i presumed they were... Booked Kyloe on Trip Advisor, as we searched online for a good steakhouse in the city centre. 2 simple steps and a table was reserved, simple as!! The food was good, the service first class. If youre stuck on chosing which cut to order, fear not, as a steak board is presented at your table, with your waiter talking you... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
