Always has a nice bustle & high standards guaranteed by strong local restaurant competition like Fishers. A well established front of house team deliver good... More

Visited last week with the boyfriend and his folks. We first spotted the lovely little ship details. We were taken right to our cosy table by the window by the nice chatty waiter. we ordered a shared starter of scallops and shared the Paella for two. The scallops with bacon was tasty, but they were very small. To be fair... More

I recently ate at the “The Ship on the Shore” with a colleague and 6 clients, we were all extremely impressed. The dining room is decked out in a nautical theme which is only apt for its nearby dock surroundings; this is also reflected in the extensive fish menu. However, they cater extensively for meat-eaters also. The party ordered a... More

I had such a great time in this place. The staff were very nice and accommodating and when reserving the table we asked for the nicest table available and they took us to a lovely window seat. The staff were really good at recommending what things to order which we ordered a warm seafood platter which was massive and was... More

We booked in for lunch on Sat 21st Feb. Arrived to find a cosy old pub style decor and bar and we were promptly seated. The place was full and there was a nice buzzy atmosphere. Despite being full service was prompt, amazing Vesper Royal cocktail with some grilled queenies to whet the appetite was followed by the Fruits De... More

Took daughter and her boyfriend here for a lunch whilst I was in Edinburgh. As ever the atmosphere is great, the setting is great and of course the food is the best. Just had the seafood patter after starting with the squid and pork belly. All excellent, couldn't beat it....

My partner and I had a meal here on February 14th. I had actually booked the 13th in error but the staff were extremely good about finding us a table in any case for which we are extremely grateful considering it was Valentines. We ordered the surf and turf which was very tasty. The lobster was lovely but the chips... More

Great food, great staff. It was a little bit expensive compared to other places we have been but I would still say it was good value for money

This place is fantastic. Polite, very friendly, staff and a great menu selection. Right on the water at Leith this restaurant gave us one of the best meals we've had for a long time. The Surf & Turf was out of this world, absolutely delicious, and we'd return without hesitation. 10/10 to all staff.
