Not the plateful other reviews would have you believe is served. Adequately cooked steak at comparable price.

This is a popular place such that we could only get a table for 4 at 845 on a Saturday night although that was our fault for booking so late but is also a good sign that it would be great. It was indeed great. The menu choices are excellent. The steaks looked amazing. I had half rack of ribs... More

Recommend steakhouse with good service. The curly fries bring you to fries heaven. Simple and easy menu and good choices with kid's.

Party of 6 ate at McKirdys on Saturday night, booked last minute, but they managed to squeeze us in. Food was delicious, steaks are perfectly cooked, melt in the mouth. Good atmosphere. Plenty of choice. Will definitely visit again.

It has rated well so we tried to book online. Booked out. walked ther by 6.30 and and after a bit of banter got a table for four as long as we promised to be gone by 8.00. Shared entree of chicken wings and ribs were excellent. Steaks were large, succulent and cooked as requested. The T bone was rated... More

We found this restaurant close to the hotel we were staying at, and the reception staff recommended it. The choice was wide ranging, and you would struggle not to find a dish that you liked. I had the Chicken McHiggis, and it was excellent, tender chicken, a quality haggis filling, and served piping hot. We had a bottle of malbec,... More

Steak, Indian, Chinese, Thai. Morrisons Street seems to be a wee treasure for foddies. Picked steak for no particular reason and was so glad we did. Food was cooked to perfection, quality was first class and service and atmosphere excellent, relaxed and fun. The food is mouth meltingly wow. We only had mains but everything looked so appealing. Will be... More

Located in Morrison Street, near to both Haymarket and Lothian Road, this is a great steak restaurant. Most people seem to go for dinner at the regular time, but if you go before 6.30 any day of the week, you can choose from the early diner's menu. The choice is limited but if all you want is a steak, it... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
