Surf and turf was incredible and the rack of lamb was cooked to perfection! Run by the nicest people too, definitely would recommend :)

The decor is very basic but perhaps that is on purpose. The prices were over the top, and for a place that specializes in steaks they got them wrong, all over-cooked. I now also have a colleague, who chanced a very disappointing burger, complaining of an all-night chunderfest. But that could have been the ale. Kudos to the manager, he... More

Visited this "Steakhouse" hoping for a good steak. But we got a below average dinning experience. When you dine out you hope to enjoy a better or equal evening than you can have at home. This was neither. Service was amateur. Steak was pathetic , sides were of the frozen variety. Atmosphere was working mans club like !! Why you... More

A group of 10 of us ate here, nice enough food but we waited over an hour for our meal. Granted it was a Friday night and not quiet but I still feel this was excessive especially as the food was dry and over cooked. Wouldn't go back.

I came here with my partner for a meal and it was wonderful! Mini sausages to start were fantastic and cooked perfectly. My fillet steak was ordered medium rare and I'd say it was pretty much spot on! Very tasty too. Great staff, helpful and friendly. A must if you're looking for steak.

I decided to give this steak house a try as my friend adores steak. I was quite surprised at the poor layout when we arrived. our table was basically in a corridor facing the kitchen. Very bad small table . For some reason nothing felt very clean. Although I could see in the kitchen and it was spotless, all credit... More

So.....I've been fine all day, then I ate here. Now I'm writing this review from my toilet where I have been for the last hour. I thought my steak looked a bit grey but just assumed it wasn't great quality despite the £20 price tag. The 'award winning butchers' tag line lured me into a false sense of security. But... More

Went with the family after a recommendation from the hotel. Everyone had a very nice steak from rib eye to fillet. Reasonable price for the quality and very good service.

I love steak night, but we weren't impressed on our first visit to this restaurant. 1x sirloin £21.95 1x fillet £27.95 1x sauce £1.95 BYOB corkage £3 The steaks come with a 'pinch' of salad & choice of potato....the worst steak fries I have ever tasted! YUK (and it's not a word I use very often!) Steaks weren't up to... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighborhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theaters and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
