Quaint little taste of Mexico packed with unique and authentic dishes, standing high above the normal Mexican dishes .

Ceviche pescado starter bursting with zesty fresh flavours, the churros with dipping sauce stand out. Intimate, full of choices for authentic Mexican tastes, lovely range of Tequilas and decor full of Mexican colour and culture. Great for lunch set on the bustling Rose St, off Princes Street. We visited Edinburgh in the festive period and decided to go on Trip adviser to see if we could find a nice mexican restaurant.. this was the first one to come up so we decided we would try it out. I am so glad we did. I love the face its so small and authentic. The fajitas and nachos where... More

Myself and three friends travelled to Edinburgh in May 2015. We booked on the recommendation of Trip Advisor. The decor transported you to Mexico- it was nice to go somewhere that didn't feel too touristy! The service was fast and friendly, with an authentic Mexican waiter to boot! The food was huge in portions and the cocktails were strong. Main... More

Went here for my friends birthday meal out as she loves Mexican food. Ordered frozen margaritas (£4.95 for one) whilst we waited on our food. Had small nachos, which was quite a big portion for being small so was definitely a good value for money. The place is nice inside and has a good atmosphere, however there were three waitresses... You have to visit Miro's Cantina when in Edinburgh. We have visited Edinburgh once every year for the last 4 years and always visit Miros. The foot is spectacular and well priced and the wait staff are always very friendly.

We were taken here for lunch by our son and his wife. What a lovely authentic style cantina. We shared a large plate of nacho's for starters, and we all had something different for our main. Which we all enjoyed very much. It was all very tasty, served with a smile by the nice staff. We will go back, now... More

This place has a great variety of Mexican fare on the menu. We got the medium nachos and quesedillas between us and the portions were huge and flavourful. The only negative is even though the restaurant was quiet, the food was quiet slow.

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
