We came here on our second night in Edinburgh. It's definitely worth booking as it is popular and it's not very big. The staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic. We both had a starter, I had smoked salmon, he had prawns. We had to go for steak, I had the 8oz sirloin and he had the rib... More

Four of us dined here our last night in Scotland. We had avoided haggis...and if all haggis tastes as good as Wildfire's we made a mistake! Definitely a winner, like a slightly textured, slightly spicy, pate, a little dryer than sausage. Fantastic. We all had steaks, each a different cut and differing requests for doneness. Each came perfectly cooked. The... More

Have visited on numerous occasions with family, friends and colleagues and recommended. Small friendly establishment with high quality food and drinks - got to be one of the top two or three steak venues in Edinburgh.

First I must say the best dish for me here is the Confi Duck. Cooked to perfection each time I've had it, meat just glides off the bone and the accompanying bramble sauce and mash potato and greens just make it to die for. Look at the pictures, four chefs and same consistency!! Also the cheese & potato soup is... More

First time round we had the Fisherman's Pie to die for. I had been searching for one all over the Kingdom. The smokiness of the haddock with the accompanying seafood was terrific. So we thought we would try it again to see if that was just a fluke. NO IT WASN'T! Second time around the Pie was different but equally... More

Came here on the basis of the good reviews just to be disappointed. Staff were friendly and professional and the place has a nice atmosphere but is let down by the food. The Lamb Shank (which I saw being taken out of the chef's microwave, although I can't be certain if that was my one or someone else's) tasted like... More

Went here with my husband. Hadn't booked but luckily got a table. This tiny restaurant is a lovely little gem. The food was delicious. Crab salad starter was light fresh and full of flavour. Confit of duck the best I have had. Service was friendly but unobtrusive.

As someone who has visited many restaurants on business trips at home and abroad, I can thoroughly recommend Wildfire. Just go there and you will see exactly what I mean. As for the food, well, ... like one of the reviewers below I had lamb shank and it was ... wonderful. My wife had steak, which was equally as good... More

Superb food - the Tagine was really tasty & my partner said that the Lamb Shank was the best he had ever had! Small & cosy you should definitely reserve a table unless you're planning on a very early dinner. The staff were friendly and the young man who took our order was very knowledgeable about the Gluten Free options... More

Inconsistent would be how I'd describe this place. Following an excellent business dinner, I took my husband and the service was very poor and the food pretty average. The response to a question about whether a prawn should have been warm demonstrated that serving staff did not know as much about the dishes as they ought, and the response was... More
