Wildfire restaurant in Rose Street, the best seafood! Have been to this restaurant on two separate trips to Edinburgh. The food is faultless. Make sure you book as it's very popular and only a few tables but well worth a visit. Nice atmosphere and quite cosy.

Having phoned to state that we would be late due to travelling issues we received a very warm welcome. Shown to our table, we ordered our wine and were shown the menu. The restaurant had approximately twelve covers and is located in a fairly small nicely decorated building on Rose Street, just behind Princes St. The menu was more than... More

Had a lovely lunch here! We were a party of 10 on a Six Nation's Saturday and the staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. We all enjoyed really lovely food and amazing wine. Looking forward to going back next time we are in Edinburgh. Excellent seafood and the steaks were incredible. Top place!

We were really surprised by this home key unassuming venue. Great steaks and friendly service made for a great evening sat in front of the fire. Good honest food!

So glad we booked this in advance, it is a cosy Resturant with fab food. Really generous portions, very good value for money. We had the game pie to start followed by the fab fish pie. For desert my husband had the cheese & I had a slab of sticky toffee pudding! All the staff were very efficient and attentive,... More

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
