Very Tasty.

We visited on Saturday, booked for 2.15 pm but arrived an hour earlier just incase they could take us earlier. They could. Very nice decor, although we were told a revamp is on the cards. Food was excellent couldn't fault it. I had chicken wings, my wife had pate. Mains I opted for the haddock... read more

This is the place to be seen, very, very busy on a Friday night, lots of areas to sit, stand and be squashed into! I am sure it is great Sunday to possibly Wednesday but then it does become a "cattle market!" We did eat and the food was very good but forget talking to anyone as you cant hear... More

I booked a hen do at tiger lily for my best friend, as her maid of honour I wanted everything to be perfect. Upon entering we were told to remove our sashes and the bride her veil. Pretty pathetic given we had spent over £900 on the meal and a cocktail making class. The food was ok but it did... More

George street is a good location and the bar in this hotel is achingly trendy...very very popular with the after work drinking crowd. We went for dinner. The food is good, although some of the things we ordered had finished. However although the girl who served us was lovely, very nice and helpful, the service was very slow. I think... More

This is a very lively, modern & stylish venue. We found the staff very welcoming & friendly. Afternoon tea was served in the conservatory, where as it was a very wet & miserable day we were delighted to be seated by the roaring fire! Starting with a glass of Prosecco we then went on to enjoy the afternoon tea delights.... More

Food and cocktails were fantastic. Had the lobster which was amazing and my hubby and I tried an oyster for the first time which was fun. Had to leave as a very noisy hen party were close by. After 2 hours of shrieking we folded.

We went in here for my hen do. The barman was extremely rude as was the waitress. I was told to remove my veil before going in! Full of pretentious snobs and overpriced cocktails

This is a very lively location with an excellent cocktail bar for pre-dinner drinks. The place is full of atmosphere and, although it was busy, the service was very good. We ate from the set menu and although there was limited choice, only four starters and four main courses, the dishes were well presented and tasty. The portions were not... More

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
