Visited here during the fringe. Very busy and quite expensive. We had a round of cocktails before going on to a show. There were lots of people eating although we didn't. This is a lovely if not a little pretentious venue. The drinks were more expensive than other bars in the area, but I... read more

My partner and I were taking 4 of his relatives to see the Edinburgh festival as they were visiting from Canada. As we are both big fans of Tigerlily, we decided it would be the perfect place to treat them to lunch. We both chose the pulled pork and were sorely disappointed. In both of our dishes there were large... More

I had a terrible experience in tigerlily this afternoon. To begin with everything was great, the host was lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. Myself and a friend had booked for afternoon tea and we were both left very disappointed. Service was very very slow, our food came before our drinks for a start! We were never once asked... More

delicious food, great deal £15 for 2 courses. Comfortable and luxurious surroundings, staff helpful and polite. Bar is really modern and classy and the drinks choices were really fantastic, cocktails amazing and the general atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, romantic getaway or meal is perfect!

Love the decor in this place and always has a great vibe. Great cocktails. Clientele a bit chavvy though.

Bought 2 itison vouchers which I used on 25 August taking 3 friends with me from the Scottish Borders. We had a beautiful day, sun shining, great craic, Edinburgh Festival on and Edinburgh was buzzing. I buy itison vouchers fairly regularly and tend NOT to be disappointed with the various offers. However, today's offer from tigerlily was extremely poor and... More

Stayed in the hotel and had the most amazing room I have ever stayed in, was bigger than my house! Open fire, four poster bed, lounge. Free standing bath and an amazing shower! We also had an evening meal which was so tasty and the sharing pudding was to die for. Highly Reccommended

Pleasantly surprised by the amazing food I received when at Tigerlily. Got the Lamb and it was delicious. Lovely décor, nice atmosphere and tasty food and cocktails. Had a great night last night at Tigerlily. Will definitely return!! Small portions but well worth it.

A great way to finish a busy sight-seeing day in Edinburgh, with lovely cocktails in a pleasant spot. There was a good happy hour menu when we arrived at 6pm and several hours later we were still enjoying the cocktails (€5) and enjoying such a great city!

Walking round Edinburgh city centre on a warm summer's day during the festival, my friends and I wanted to find somewhere to imbibe a cold refreshment and enjoy the sun. A table on the decking outside Tigerlily presented itself and we sat ourselves down. Initially we were served quite quickly and ordered two pints of lager, a bottle of wine... More

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
