Exceptional in every way!

Bijou is one of Edinburgh's great little gems. Spectacular food, exceptional service and one of the friendliest atmospheres in the City. Often busy, so always worthwhile to book ahead... ...and don't be swayed by an earlier review about empty tables and a refused booking. In our experience, I... read more

Called to book ahead for table of nine for breakfast was told no instantly, asked if any other times would suit possible later was just told no. Just walked passed the restaurant on route to another establishment the restaurant is completely empty apart from one man and two women who obviously work there having a chat. Shocking service will be... More

We attended the restaurant for the first time for a dinner which was paired with Argentinian Wines arranged by Great Grog. The food was Michelin star class all prepared by Chris who is the Assistant Chef. He should be on Masterchef! Our daughter went to the restaurant a few days later with her husband and was also very impressed. We... More

It might seem an unlikely location for a restaurant, but there's plenty of parking nearby and with the sun and crocuses out on Leith Links opposite, the outlook was a welcome change from most central Edinburgh lunch-time haunts. The restaurant has a no-nonsense interior with slatted wood tables. There are only 20 about covers so it's probably best to reserve... More

This was our second time in Scotland and we had to come back to Bijou. The restaurant is a short cab ride down to the Leith area of Edinburgh (we were staying at the Balmoral). Bijou is in a neighborhood across from a park and really has a neighborhood feel (the restaurant is small, so get reservations). The first time... More

My hubby and I went here for our evening meal tonight. It was just down the road from where we were staying. When we walked in we were greeted by a friendly lad who was happy and didn't keep us waiting. The service was very fast and friendly. The food was fantastic - could not fault it. The waiter even... WHAT A FIND! Bikini is the correct title for this wonderful restaurant! The venue is superb ,the quality of the food even better, and,if possible, the owner even better again! Best to book in advance, and, if available order the 6 Nations sausages with the unbelievable gravy! Very fairly priced - a must iif you are in the area!

Myself and three friends went for dinner last Saturday and what a great experience it was. James, the owner, was hilarious and the service was excellent. We all enjoyed our food, which was exceptionally good and being able to BYOB kept the prices down too. I would have no hesitation to recommend this little gem.

Have had dinner before in this delightful ''bijou'' restaurant. We returned with a friend from Holland for breakfast last week. He like us loved the service and attention from James the owner. He is so friendly and a pleasure to know. Nothing is a problem. We had a fantastic cooked breakfast from the chef, and the banter was excellent. We... More
