My son's favorite restaurant in Edinburgh

Very good burger, but as with all burgers in Scotland over cooked. We were there at the beginning of the Christmas season so we got the Christmas special which included a Biscoff Shake. Worth the visit just for the shake alone. Even though it's counter order, it has table servers and it was... read more

GBK is very central so very easy to get to (especially if you work in town). The fact that it is one of very few (tasty and not dry) halal burger places makes it a perfect spot for me hence my frequent visit! I staff there are very friendly and the service is very quick so happy to come here... More

The Gourmet Burger Kitchen are advertising to get vegetarians and vegans to eat their meat. I feel this is disgraceful and I will never eat there again and advise others not to. It is completely unprincipled and I could never trust such a place to make sure that what was advertised as vegetarian wasn't touched my meat.

After spending the afternoon going round the Winter Wonderland, headed along to this restaurant as the kids were looking for something quick and the adults looking for something a bit more than your usual burger place. We also thought it would be a bit quieter than many of the city centre venues. The venue was busy but had a number... More

We fancied a meal out but nothing fancy and hadn't booked. Popped into Gourmet Burger Kitchen and had a great meal. Good range of choice to eat and a small but interesting range of drinks to choose from. Staff were really helpful and friendly

Not worth it to be honest. Lukewarm soggy fries, totally average burger. Much better out there. Pretty sure the staff must be embarrassed to serve this food. Gourmet? Hilarious.

This is my new happy place. Burgers that make your mouth water AND LnP. What more can you ask for? Had the Lamb Ma Goa burger... just to die for. Service was bubbly and helpful. Thanks for the great experience.

Enjoyed a nice spot of lunch, used my App and got a free side of fries. Great staff and great food. Rest your feet from the excitement of George st and Princess st and grab a burger...yum!

We came here in a big group and it was clean plates all round as we enjoyed everything we ordered! It proved to be a good choice for a group as you order and pay at the till and then its served to your table so you all eat together but dont have to deal with all the annoying bill... More

Staying in New Town

Neighborhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighborhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
