My family and I visited this place for the first time and it was amazing, the venue was recommended by a friend so we drove the half hour drive and were not disappointed, great place and 5 stars from us

Had just intended to have a drink in the wheatsheaf but stayed for dinner and it was brilliant best beef olives I have ever tasted! Very friendly staff always had time for a chat Maureen especially very courteous and efficient. Always a busy restaurant which speaks volumes for itself have no hesitation in recommending it.

Had not visited the pub since 1997. Friday evening meal was quite tasty. Prawns for starters followed by gammon streak. The restaurant was busy, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Come 8pm the restaurant was virtually empty. Various early bird offers must be tempting for the OAPs.

We went here after a walk on troon beach and were really disappointed. The food was really bad and expensive for what they were presenting. It has to be the worst meal I have ever had. £11 for a burger meal. The burger bap fell apart as it was so dry, the burger was tasteless and full of grit and... More

Had not been for a number of years however today we decided to lunch out and went to the Wheatsheaf. We chose from the £12.95 two course menu which had good selection. Our choice for the main course was steak pie which was delicious and a good size portion. Sweets were the usual selection of sticky toffee puddings etc and... More

We were given a high recommendation of the food in this pub. However, for some reason the food was really poor. The battered haddock and chips I ordered was not good. The fish was watery and tasteless, the batter was a grease sponge, the chips not home cooked and the the tartare sauce as if it were from a Heinz... More

This is a classic Scottish pub in Symington. The interior dining area is cozy and charming and there is an outdoor seating area as well. A separate public bar is terrific for watching sports and meeting locals. This is a do not miss pub for the area.
