This isn't a place you could find by accident, but it's well worth seeking out! A lovely atmosphere with vintage decor, friendly staff and delicious food. Plenty of vegetarian options (including the soups) and a wide range of delicious looking cakes - it was a really difficult decision which ones to choose. Everything we had was fresh and delicious and... More

Excellent food together with customer service makes us go back again and again. The cakes are always awesome (and different)! Nice friendly staff too!

Absolutely fantastic from the moment you enter to the moment you leave. Service is friendly and efficient. The food is good. For breakfast The Big Jessie has high quality bacon and black pudding and fantastic oven roasted tomatoes. They don't have link sausage, but I don't think it misses this. Lunch is good with a daily special sandwich, two types... More

Just had lunch here with my friend. The food was very good and the staff friendly and efficient. My only complaint would be that when busy, because of the size of the rooms, the noise level is really high.

We have been here several times and always really enjoy it. Great food and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Menu has nice different choices with daily specials and delicious fresh home bakes. Highly recommend! :)

My mother and I are 'regulars' at Jessie's kitchen. The staff are really friendly & chatty. We generally arrive a bit late close to closing time, but they never shoo us away, which is good of them. The baking is very good & it's hard to choose what to have. I would highly recommend, if you have not tried; you... More

With a friend for afternoon tea. We chose the contents of the sandwiches (from a choice of about 5 or 6). These were very fresh and tasty. Two small sausage rolls, 2 large traybakes and 2 generous slices of sponge cake with loads of tea. Waitresses were very attentive. It was good value for money but we were unable to... More

Food average. Eaten here loads with my family and friends and was disappointed earlier in the week when I went here with my young children. Although they could have sandwiches I was told I had to have something from the breakfast menu at 1145. Not happy. So I chose a filter coffee. It was weak and didnt taste good at... More

Visited for lunch with my son. Although very busy (always a good sign) we were greeted immediately and taken to a table. The service was extremely friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. The restaurant looks fresh and clean and I certainly won't hesitate to go back very soon.

off the beaten track, from the usual "Ferry fare", but once found this is a gem of a lunch spot. set in an older building the views across to Fife are excellent, its quirky ( an old record player with a housemartins record on the turn table ) there are decent specials and the menu is equally quirky. I am... More
