Great character and location

Positioned right on the Broughty Ferry waterfront with glorious views of the Tay. authentic furnishings, sizeable, hearty portions and flavours. I went for the sea bass and wasn't disappointed. Reasonably priced.

We live not far from this little gem so have been in many times. The pub is a traditional type pub with a personal touch. It has most of its original features which is great in this day and age. It was built in 1847 when it was first listed as a spirit dealer serving the fisher folk of Broughty... More

We understand now why a close friend recommended this restaurant as his favorite of all time. The staff was pleasant and helpful, and the food was marvelous. The view of the Firth of Tay was just as if we were on a ship. Overwhelmingly recommend their fish pie!!

We have never eaten in Broughty Ferry and went in on a Tuesday hoping to get lunch. The bar is cosy and has character. We waited at the bar while the bar man was busy at the till with a bit of paper - for ages. He didn't acknowledge our presence in any way. We sat at a nearby table... More

I am disappointed at your comments because as you will see the vast majority of our reviews refer to excellent staff and customer service. I have spoken to the young man on bar duty on the day of your visit and he tells me he acknowledged you and your friend when you entered the bar and took a window seat.... More

Charming old fashioned pub/restaurant on the waterfront. You can sit outside and have a few beers while you build up a hunger to either eat in the bar or upstairs in the restaurant. We ate in the restaurant, the menu has a varied selection, something for everyone. Everything we ordered was perfectly cooked and delicious. Great food at reasonable prices.... More

Came here for a meal with work colleagues. The smoked haddock is to die for, I order it everytime. Service was great also. Lovely place and would highly recommend. Would recommend to book a table upstairs the view is amazing.

I have not dined here, however like to stop here for a break in my day. Ornate carved bar and a great selection of hand pulled and cask beers with a view overlooking the Tay. Friendly regulars and great banter makes this a welcoming place. Well worth stopping by - seats outside also for the nicer weather.

Are here after staying close by and seeing the good reviews. I had the Cullen skink to start and can honestly say was delicious. Partner had the haggis fritter. Both were spot on. Mains he had the fish and chips and scampi and it was a large dish and every bit was demolished. Managed to try and bit before it... More

Went here on Saturday for an anniversary meal with friends, from the star it was good, great window table(thanks Steve)looking over the Tay. Waitresses were excellent and the food very good. I had no starters only a steak and it was cooked exactly as I wanted(med, rare)my wife had mussels for starters and the fish pie to follow, not a bit left by either... More
