Lovely atmosphere and very good service. Choice of two menus, upstairs is a bit more upmarket , but the bar menu is decidedly better than regular pub grub. Staff were actually happy to serve either menu downstairs where we wanted to sit as it was quiet and cozy. Three of us chose something different and all 6 dishes were very... More

For £19 I would have expected a steak on a plate with a bit of appeal but what i got was a steak, 3 wee tomatoes and 3 rather die in the water onion rings. Joking apart what really pissed me off were three waitresses laughing and joking at the cuttlery area, when we were. The only two in the... More

Enjoyed lunch with friends who had not visited The Ship before, they were pleased with the quality of the food and the ever changing view over the River Tay. Service was as expected and we will certainly return.

On our holiday from Australia and were not disappointed in our find of a traditional and quaint Scottish pub, plenty of character, relaxing, wonderful menu and tasty food. Magic view from the top restaurant of the bay. Value for money and special.

Would recommend The Ship, fabulous setting on the shores of the Tay with delicious food well presented and friendly staff. Parking can be a problem, we were lucky and found a space relatively near but would happily park a few streets back to visit again.

Five ladies who regularly go to the ship inn were booked last night for 8.30 (been booked for 6 weeks) On arrival we were told our booking had been changed to 9pm as they were busy. Eventually got our table at 9pm only to find that glasses for wine and water on the table were straight out of tumble drier... More

Return visit after long absence! Quiet at lunchtime (Monday). Great views from upstairs restaurant windows on a really silvery Tay. Lovely fish and big portions but all on the pricey side, Good service. Always worth a return visit.

We travel 30 miles for the food here, fish and chips are excellent but seafood dishes are great value for money. Wines and beers good choice to suit all tastes. Waitresses friendly and helpful too. Recommended great value for money, recommend booking a table, it is busy ask for table at window for great views over estuary, you might be... More

We found the Ship whilst looking for somewhere that was happy to have our dog too. My husband really enjoyed his fish and chips and I loved the Arbroath smokey salad. Some of the staff were friendly, some weren't! but that didn't bother us. It helped that it was a lovely sunny day as there was limited outside space.

On the recommendations of our B & B hosts we drove down to this pub by the water. Large portions of pub food and very tasty
