We enjoyed an excellent lunch in the Ship upstairs in the Restaurant, overlooking the River Tay. There was a good well balanced selection on offer, however we all felt since the fish is freshly sourced daily it would have been a mistake not to choose one of the many fish dishes on the menu. My salmon was lovely accompanied by... More

On entering a most attractive traditional styled pub, were greeted by Lindsay, who proved to be most attentive and welcoming. Rather than going upstairs to the restaurant, decided on bar meals, The menu selection is most comprehensive, with considerable range of fish dishes. Value and quality turned out to be excellent, and even after golf, felt more than satisfied. The... More

Pleasant, popular atmospheric pub/restaurant with views out over Tay Estuary. Bit noisy, lots of "buzz". Both the food and the service ok, but by no means outstanding. The Arbroath smoked haddock was fine, but I've had better in Arbroath. The lamb shank that my partner had was fatty and a bit stringy. One of the staff clearly not a happy... More

Wonderful dinner in a perfect place. Beautiful view on the river Tay. I strongly recommend you to book in advance. The restaurant is at the first floor. We ate a fantastic seafood plate and a glorious dessert :-) If you're in Dundee, come and have fun !

booked a table for eight people last month. Asked for the table in the window and was seated there. Fabulous view of the Tay estuary. Food was great and reasonably priced. Service was good and we had a good evening

A lovely setting let down by surly, unfriendly bar staff. Why? Such bad business. Every now and again myself and friends give it another go (due to the location), but no, same unhappy staff. Unless your a local. Quite embarrassing really. Awful

Been here a few times over the the years with both work and family.... the family keep making me come back here because of the view.... not sure why as the wife usually has a go at me about the service being poor upstairs. Had a fish supper about a month ago in the bar down stairs which was really... More

Having eaten here a few times in the past, this time was just as good Cullen Skink starter followed by fish and chips with real chips cooked just right. and all helped by a nice view across the river tay. Portions are generous, in some ways they could do with having a option for those with a smaller appetite, not... More
