I loved the way they served and prepared the food, you tell them what you don't like or your dietary requirements and they rustle you up something rather than you you sitting waiting on your dining partner(s) taking an age to choose from the menu. The amount of food they serve to you is plentiful and everything tickled the palate,... More

Refer to my last review of this restaurant in September 2013, that'll save me a lot of typing. We dropped in for a unreserved lunch and found that the whole place had recently been redecorated and the downstairs area completely modernised to a high standard. We thought the Tapas served this time, were even better than before. Staff were still... More

Had a really good meal here recently but have been before and have always been impressed with the food and the staff. Particularly the prawns in garlic, the stuffed peppers and the cheesecake to die for. Popped downstairs later (Sunday) for a little salsa dancing and the evening was complete. Very nice atmosphere and very good value.

As an anniversary dinner we visited the tapas bar and it was absolutely brilliant! I was apprehensive as I can be a bit fussy but the staff were amazing with the selection they gave us! After the starters we were delighted with the huge array of main course dishes! We had a great time and the staff were fabulous! Many... More

Managed to get a table booked but in the bar, great atmosphere and surroundings, felt like Spain, lots of fabulous food, each dish described when served, the server gave the Spanish name for the dish and the region in was from. A selection of cold then hot Tapas. Everybody needs to try this!

Had set dinner here with some family members. Tapas were really nice and very plentiful and well worth the price. Great selection of drinks too, some choice 'rum' that Ive never seen for sale locally, so that impressed greatly. Staff were on the ball too which makes for good times all round. Keep up the good work. We shall return.

Have visited 3 times now and Sol y Sombra is easily the best tapas place I've ever been in. The staff are knowledgeable, food is fresh, hot & very tasty. All in all a great night, we will be back! X

Great team in the tapas bar, great food, generous drinks, fantastic atmosphere and all in all a great night out. Highly recommend this for anyone who is not a fussy eater, as it is a set menu, however, there is something for everyone included.

A return visit to this small restaurant in Broughty Ferry confirmed our impression that its No.1 slot is justified. On a Wednesday evening it was completely full with groups and couples making enough noise to make it hard to hear the waiter’s explanations of what our meal involved. The set menu consisted of various small dishes contained beautifully prepared cold... More
