Always good

The Malabar is a favourite. We've eaten here many times and it is always good. We especially like the lamb bhuna and the subsie. Tonight we also ordered kulfi, which I adore. This was disappointing - definitely not home made, unlike the rest of the food. But we'll be back. It remains a worthwhile... read more

The Malabar is a regular haunt. Very dependable. My favourite is the fishcurry when it is trout. Highly recommended

Malabar's food is amazing, and always manages to taste extremely fresh; in all the curries I have had there, the sharp freshness of the ingredient vegetables punches through the delicious curry flavour, and texturally have a lovely crunch. This is all very reassuring, as often I have been let down by curry houses where it tastes and feels like it... More

I have been to this small relatively relaxed and informal neighbourhood restaurant several times. The particular night I am referring to here was a cold Thursday one week after New Year and town was very quiet indeed. But the Malabar was almost full with friends, families and couples, testament to its popularity and reliability. Reliability does not mean that it's... More

I have nothing but praise for this place. We managed to book a table at the last minute on Saturday - and as always the food and service were excellent. I've tried most dishes on this menu, but opted for Chicken Karahi this time, and I dare say I'll have it again in the future. Another contributor mentioned the death... More

My table was booked for 8.30pm. When I arrived I was shown to my table by a waitress who did not look very happy. I then had to wait for a further 1/2 hour till my order was taken. At no time during this period was I asked if I wanted something to drink. The food after being ordered was... More

The Three Amigos visited the Malabar last night as is the custom every few weeks and yet again we cannot fault the place! Food was excellent and the staff are simply a credit to the restaurant. Tastes differ among people but for us the food is simply wonderful. We will be back in another few weeks time! Oh, and the... More

Another great meal in the Malabar. No trip to Dundee, and we are here regularly, would be complete without a visit. Good atmosphere, great staff and fabulous, fresh food.
