Simply Excellent

Arrived a little early for our evening meal but were warmly welcomed and taken to a soft seated area to peruse the menus over drinks. Note - Orkney Dark Island ale was on offer - which pleased us all. Although one of us had to abstain due to the drinking laws in Scotland being so strict. Staff... read more

When we arrived (lunchtime) there was a few tables ( not overly busy) took a little time for our order to be taken and would not class waitress as friendly quite abrupt, the teapots were terrible to pour from quite worrying with hot liquid. Food was ok but nothing special overall stylish decor but other areas need to be looked... More

After our golf at Lochmaben we dined at Brodies. The service was excellent, the food was delicious. Great atmosphere. Relaxed way of dining with good wine choices. Thoroughly recommend if you are in that part of Scotland.

I arranged a suprise trip to Gretna for my wife to renew our vows after 10 years marriage. I found Brodies via Tripadvisor and took a chance (we live 300+ miles away). It was possible the best afternoon tea, sandwiches and cakes any of us had ever had (better than any big name hotel). The service was great, the ladies... More

When I called in to book ( during opening hours), I waited at the bar area while three members of staff continued a conversation - to the point where I began to think I was invisible! This feeling prevailed, to some extent, during our meal, when service was poor. The decor was very smart and modern looking, with comfortable seating... More

On Thursday 18th June had the pleasure of visiting this establishment for the second time. The first time a few months ago was for an evening meal, this time was for lunch. The food is beautifully prepared, the staff are so attentative and professional. Very cheery and hospitable. It is obvious they have regular repeat custom as they knew many... More

First time we have dined here in the evening and it won't be the last. My wife and I are vegetarians and there can be a lack of imagination at some restaurants, but not at Brodie's. The menu is imaginative and leaves you spoiled for choice. We had one of the best meals that we have had for a very... More

Booked an afternoon tea with three friends and this was lovely. Nice surroundings, service was excellent and the non drivers decided to have prosecco with our goodies and the when the lady heard this very kindly brought a non alcoholic glass of fizz for the driver which we all thought was a really nice touch. Good value too at £18... More
