Used to be my favourite eating house in Kirkcudbright but this year I feel they are charging way over the top. Had a meal there recently which was very average but left feeling ripped off. Won't return anytime soon. Sorry

Very nice place for afternoon tea on a rainy afternoon, in a nice part of Kirkudbright. We were welcomed and shown to a comfortable lounge. Our Earl Grey order was served with a delicious shortbread biscuit. friendly service, comfortable and quiet, just what we needed.

Eating here is easy, there's a great choice to the menu, and quality produce used. We had a night here earlier in the year(gourmet night), and what a night it was, excellent value, well worth doing when they come around. This time like before the food is well presented, has excellent taste, and also has that special feel, I had... More

This pub has a medium sized beer garden at the rear with lovely furniture and surrounded by plants and trees. It lets in just the right amount of sunlight so you have protection when its very sunny and good protection from the wind. It's family friendly. Its a great beer garden, I spent a lovely couple of hours there.

Dined there (didn't stay). Had the haggis, scone and pepper sauce as starter and then the monkfish for main. Both were excellent and very filling. On next visit will definitely be going there again and may have the same as I enjoyed it that much. Service was excellent too and Robbie who served us was lovely and very friendly. Thank... More

Very mixed evening. The beer , the starters, the service organisation and the expensive parts of the main course were fine. However the menu was a little strange ( no chicken ) , frozen chips , potato boulangeres nothing like the real thing and one carrot as a vegetable. However what l personally object to is having to argue with... More

Lovely fish and chips-a tad expensive but tasty and friendly staff. Has monopoly in town as not many places open on an evening that serve food

Can't recommend this restaurant more highly. The food was outstanding. We had the Beef and Haggis pie and were told that it would be 20mins....well worth the wait..if you can call that a wait. Give me home cooked slow food every time. All the staff were extremely helpful and all had a smile on their faces. The garden was a... More

We didn't stay at the hotel, but enjoyed an evening meal there. Our 'forest mushroom' starters (new to the menu apparently) were absolutely superb, and main courses were equally delicious. Usually two courses are adequate for my appetite, but they were not terribly (substantial for the price), and so I ordered the cheese selection to finish with. Very tasty and... More

We didn't stay on the hotel but ate on a Monday night. It was pretty busy - surprisingly so for a Monday in a restaurant, but there is plenty of space. The food was very good, we were not expecting more than a decent meal but it surpassed expectations and was very tasty, well presented and service was spot on.... More
